Yes, but people are allowed to choose to spend money on things they like even if that thing will die after 10-15 years.

I like your theory!

you adopted a vampire. The dog eats raw meat (pork is closest to human in terms of taste) wouldn't come in until invited, wouldn't cross running water, and stands up to bite your guests shoulders.

Kids eventually grow up and contribute to society. Dogs are essentially decade old infants.

Dang this is horrific and unlike Disney where you “aren’t allowed to die in the park “

It's alzheimer's disease. It's a super complicated word, to be fair. Not being rude, just letting you know for the future.
Creepy story. And it's even creepier to think about folks with alzheimer's being followed around like this.

It could also be a greeting. In my culture it’s common to greet people with similar blessings, usually if it’s someone you respect (an elder, or well educated person) or someone who you’re getting something from (shopkeeper, person you’re asking for help, religious authority, psychic, ect.)
If vampire rules also apply to the errand boy trying to pick Kirby up then the next best bet is to be nice and make Kirby’s “owner” want to give him up. IE the friendly yet outdated blessing paired with a modern lost dog poster delivered by a past due delivery boy. Which wouldn’t be particularly threatening in the eyes of whatever death centric entity sent it. To say that a death god would be out of touch with human sensibilities isn’t a far stretch considering that the last time one of them visited humanity was probably when reanimated corpses and Zeus’s love children were the norm.

“Vampire rules” (an excellent name for them btw) typically apply to supernatural beings that have human level intelligence or greater, but aren’t exactly gods. (Fae, vampires, shapeshifters, ect.) though certain things like the definition of being invited in or running water can vary. It’s a surprisingly consistent set of rules considering how many cultures have them.

The fuck? Simon tripped and hit his head on the counter. There's no way to prove he was pushed. Why would the EMTs assume he was murdered? Everything you did was pointless.

Perhaps it's a soul sent from Hades and the coins in his eyes are for the boat man so that he can pay for both the soul and Kirby to get across

I wonder why your Cerberus is also bound by vampire rules (can't cross running water and needs to be invited in)

Reading Greek mythology is an excellent idea. You should definitely keep Kirby she is obviously the goodest of girls and she yours! Something strange is coming I think.
