I'm not a law expert, but I think in some states there are certain conditions which the judge can forgo setting a bond, but in situations where the conditions aren't met but they think the person is a danger to the community they can set a bond that is so high that it is essentially the same thing(like a million dollar cash bond). Maybe Texas doesn't have something like that? Would love to be educated.

Unrelated but it blew my mind as a kid when you'd see road guardrail wrapped around trees and houses ripped apart. Simultaneously you'd have a kitchen with two walls remaining and all the bottles would be standing up on the counter unmoved with the paper towel still on the holder. Wind in a tornado defies logic.

Well, it could come off as victim blaming. Certain celebrities get a pass it seems. If she was 14 she was incapable of consent. How could she be the offender at 14? Honest question. The truth is, certain people seem to get a pass, depending on which side of certain arguments they fall on. Which is the really weird thing.

There's really not a compelling link between mental illness in a clinical sense, and mass shootings.

What we have is a societal values problem. Societal illness rather than individual mental illness.

We have a society that values access to firearms over the public good, is increasingly tribalized and alienated from a meaningful sense of community, and a significant percent of the population seem to see violence as both an appropriate way to solve problems, and see people ideologically disparate from them as enemies and not deserving of the equal right to exist peaceably.

I would rather advocate for a peace talks as opposed to fighting to the last Ukrainian. Disagreeing on this concept makes you a warmonger.

Russia controlling the worlds oil....who cares? Most of Europe is going through a huge energy crisis after sanctioning them even though they left Afghanistan. So we can't let Russia control Afghanistans oil but we can? So then you agree we were there to steal their resources? Heyyy Russia is killing people and committing proxy wars in Afghanistan so its totally okay for us to do the same? Weird.

We literally helped him with his use of chemical weapons.

Sending troops thousands of miles away from you homeland and killing thousands of people is not how you establish a democracy. Killing world leaders and installing a puppet dictatorship is how we make allies in the region.

Literally the last democratically elected president Iran had was removed and replaced with a puppet dictator in 1953. We did this on the behalf of BP. We later replaced that dictator with the ayatollah lol. Then we sanction the people of Iran for having a brutal dictatorship. A dictatorship that we installed. This is not the first country we have done this too. Please do not fall for the silly propaganda we go in these regions to install democracies. Especially after killing hundreds of thousands of them.

It was an illegal invasion.

We would absolutely support Taiwan because we are run by warmongers similar to yourself. War is bad does suffice. It is not complicated. You would be willing to go to war because of... microchips??? IF we stopped deindustrializing we wouldn't even to worry about that. We don't need to go to any wars we just need to usher in peace talks. Something China has been doing.

Does it matter where I am from? You think I'm Russian because I want diplomacy in Ukraine?

If you actually understood the war you would be whining instead of warmongering. Yeah it was just a silly war where we killed hundreds of thousands of people. whoops!

War leads to death I am glad you understand this. What I don't understand is why your first instinct when bringing up China or Russia is war. If you are itching to go to war you are absolutely free to go to Ukraine and fight with them. If you aren't then you're just a warmonger sitting behind a computer screen.

Some have certainly displayed behaviors that even attract law enforcement attention. Access and making mental health less of a stigma. We need solutions that can pass. Biden addressed this recently when he said “we need more police & more funding for them” he was speaking about mental health officers to assist with these calls.

I agree it’s a multifaceted problem.

Addressing the root causes of violence: Many mass shooters have a history of domestic violence, bullying, or other forms of aggression. Addressing these underlying issues through education, counseling, and intervention programs could help prevent future acts of violence.

Improving mental health care: While not all mass shooters have a diagnosed mental illness, some do. Improving access to mental health care and reducing the stigma surrounding mental illness could help identify and treat potential perpetrators before they turn to violence.

Encouraging responsible reporting: Some mass shootings are motivated by a desire for attention or notoriety. Responsible reporting by the media, including avoiding sensationalism and not naming shooters, could help reduce the incentive for these types of attacks.

Enhancing school security: Many mass shootings take place in schools, so improving security measures such as metal detectors, security cameras, and school resource officers could help prevent these tragedies.
