I used to live 3/4 of a mile from a Jimmy John's in Portland, and they wouldn't deliver to me. They only used bikes at that time, so they may have changed their policy now that e-bikes and scooters are so ubiquitous. I emailed them once to confirm they wouldn't deliver to my address 3/4 of a mile away, and they wrote back that "maybe in the future there will be another Jimmy Johns that opens closer to you." I thought that was kind of funny, actually. Especially since their store was located in the closest area to me that was zoned for businesses. It wasn't possible for a store to be closer!

If someone is behaving erratically and it can't be ascertained whether they are concealing a weapon, how do we keep mental health experts safe?

If I was getting evicted because of renovations (that I likely wanted to have done to improve the place I pay to live) it'd give me little comfort to know whether the renovations will actually happen. I'm homeless now, I don't give a fart if you are actually remodeling.

Yea seriously. If I’m wasted at the house from drinking for a few hours I’m not about to order food on a driver app, I’m getting in my car and driving to pick up food. What kind of person would use a good delivery app when they can just drive drunk and pick up the food themselves?

100% agree. When people say “defund the police” this is generally what they mean. Take a sizable chunk of their budget and create/support these types of programs.

Yep, the CIA created cigars filled with C4 in a plan assassinate Castro. They had to keep the weight low enough to avoid suspicion and leave enough tobacco in it so it would smoke and still smell like a cigar so there wasn’t a lot of C4 in it. The tests still showed it would blow a person’s face off if the cigar was near their mouth when it triggered.
