Never attribute to malice that which can be adequately explained by stupidity.

I don’t know what type of vested interest the LAPD has in helping me watch dogs but i’m really excited to see some new dog videos on r/aww from their stash

Yeah I was a para last year and the wage really is shit. Mind you, I worked in a good district for teacher pay. I was making 19k last year, so I worked at Kroger's on the weekends. What's absolutely soul crushing is I knew students working in retail stores that made more than me. Heck one student worked at the same grocery store I worked at. Some classes I was pretty much teaching the content and at least once a week I was a substitute despite not getting the pay

This idea of charging parents for everything children do seems unfair. Yes there are times parents should be held liable, but this seems to be mentioned every time now. Kids are idiots and you can’t watch them 24/7.

I went sledding when I was in middle school and I crashed hard enough to knee my sunglasses into my forehead. I never went sledding again. Poor kids.

With just a permit, it usually is only an adult one is allowed to drive with. Never any other kids.

Hmm seems like an issue that could have been avoided by allowing people with higher IQs to apply. -sips tea

There's no way it's a way to get rid of some of the enemies of the LA cop gang. Oh, there's NO WAY they would do something like that... I'm sure it was all a total accident.

There might be a lot of deaths soon because of it. Anyone undercover might be blown, and all it takes it one seedy guy to remember a face. Also, their family could be targeted as well.

It’s not a skiing term. It just means that the two of them shared a sled. To be clear, their deaths have nothing to do with the act of skiing or snowboarding. It’s incredibly dangerous to sled on any ski course (even just an easy run). They snuck in at night and took a sled down a terrain piece that is only for experts with special training.

The joke was that the cops are going to beat their wives out of anger, not that someone else is going to hurt them

Nah. Probably just some poor plebe who was told to fill the request by a higher-up who was supposed to vet the request.
Either way it couldn't have happened to a better org. :)
