Given that half the jail are probably Trumpists, I have no doubt he'd live like a king.

If Trump is convicted (which I doubt) will his Secret Service agents hang out in the hall outside of his jail cell?
Will Trump need to worry about getting shanked in the lunch line?
Like one of us peasants!?

Continuing as we are is equally devastating to not only humanity but the ecosystems of the entire planet. What’s worse? We take a huge hit and leave something for when humanity recovers or drive everything into catastrophe and there’s nothing left, especially not us? It’s not whether we can’t run air conditioners anymore, it’s that the entire tropics will be uninhabitable, the seas belching jellyfish into the streets of flooded cities, and every human left will have fought countless marauders to keep one tiny bit of inhabitable space. It’s game over already for a lot of things. Why not try to stop some of the worst of it before we lack the technical capacity to engineer a stop? Invest everything, and I mean everything to the effort. Take the hit. Figure a lot of us won’t make it. Apologize to everything.

I bet those two colleagues of hers were also the ones who told her that she interacted with Michael Irvin, a very rich black man and then they proceeded to collude to make up some allegations to extort some money.
Not defending Michael Irvin, but I highly doubt it went down the way she said it did. Looked to me like Irvin was flirting with her, she denied his advanced, he apologized and they shook hands.

It looks to me like he was flirting with her, she had no clue who he was and wasn't interested after he tried to get close to her twice by touching her elbow so he said sorry and shook her hands which she accepted and moved on. She probably found out who he was later on and decided it was time for a pay day. Lesson of the day: don't touch other people unless you know for sure they want to be touched.

I think she does a lot of things to help the overall artist community but they don't really cost her anything. If anything, they improve her reputation by standing up for others. And with things like pushing back against payments from steaming services, she stood to gain as much if not more than other artists.
The real test is whether she is willing to do things that might cost her money or make her life more difficult. I'm guessing the answer is no.

And what exactly do you propose as an immediate solution? There isn't one unfortunately. We are a society reliant on fossil fuels for almost everything.

Because admitting that using more ecological and healthy but less cheap materials in your industry practices, and admitting that health and safety and environmental regulations WORK, is anathema to a large portion of the politicians in this country.

Nah, most of the politicians in the higher levels of government for the right are about as religious as my socks. But their voters are a lot more god-bothering, so it behooves the politicians to put that face on to appeal to their base.
With a few exceptions that really are crazed zealots.

About the time a lot of complaining was coming out about the Koch Bros and Murdoch the GOP starting screaming "Soros" like they were a pokemon named that, over and over. Typical whataboutism.
