Even if all the US data was sequestered perfectly and never got back to the CCP (something I have severe doubts about), banning it unless they sell is the right move IMO because, due to the CCP issue, the algorithm is subject to the changes China wants. We’ve already seen examples during the Hong Kong protests of different videos showing up based on if you searched about demonstrations in English vs. Chinese characters, and we should not be comfortable allowing the CCP to easily manipulating what we’re paying attention to.

We burn more oil every day. Exxon has known for decades that it's ruining the climate. Congrats, Exxon, you're literally stepping on the gas to bring us all down.

Yeah I agree, can’t stand the guy but he was in the right about banning it. Just wish that he didn’t go about it in a shoddy way that wouldn’t have held up in court and we could’ve gotten to this point a while ago.

I would say that, having lived through the cold war, that anti-Russian sentiment was extremely high under Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon and Reagan. Cuba and Vietnam were both proxy wars with USSR during the Cold War. I’m sorry you’re too much of a child to remember those days, as well as the McCarthy Red Scare of the 50s. Hate is indeed the correct word. Just go back and watch video footage, newsreels or just look at the films produced during those days. The US literally supplied arms to the Taliban to fight Russia for us. Read some history before making hugely ignorant statements.

You want people choosing AS because they're too poor to afford Healthcare? Why not hope for free universal healthcare so that people with actual conditions other than poorness can use this as its meant to be?

Because TikTok isn't bribing our lawmakers. Sorry, "lobbying."

This is just like one case we had here in Costa Rica like many years ago. The pigeon was then named the "Narcopaloma", which is a play of the words 'narco' or 'narcotraficante' (drug dealer/lord) and 'paloma' (pigeon).
It was a crazy story, albeit pretty cute.

Reply to A World War II airman's "piloting skill" helped save 7 soldiers from a crash in 1944. His remains have now been identified. by DICHOTOMY-REDDIT
Today Ukrainians are fighting for their life and freedom. It wasn’t that long ago Americans we’re doing the same in Europe.
During WW2 over 26,000 airmen died while with serving in the European theater of the 8th Air Force (47,000 casualties).
When I was 24 I was lucky to not fall off a bar stool. Lt. Montgomery and his crew was bombing Germany. Much respect, I couldn’t hold his jock strap.
Hope his extended family finds closure.
Below is from the article.
“Lt. William B. Montgomery, a 24-year-old from Ford City, Pennsylvania, died in the summer of 1944.”
“Montgomery's remains were among those eventually found during a DPAA investigation conducted in 2021”
“Montgomery was killed on June 22, 1944, when the aircraft he was piloting a B-24H Liberator bomber, carrying 10 crew members including himself. It went down near the coast of the United Kingdom. At the time, he was assigned to a bomb squadron within the Army's Eighth Air Force.”
“Montgomery's crew was struck by anti-aircraft that damaged the plane. But the lieutenant was still able to fly the aircraft until it reached the U.K., a feat that officials say was possible because of Montgomery's "piloting skill." He then ordered the crew to exit the plane before it crashed into a farm in West Sussex, England.”
“Seven of the airmen parachuted successfully while the other three crew members, including Montgomery, were still on board. Two of the crew witnessed the aircraft crashed into a farm in West Sussex, England."
