Ahh ok. So you agree that a noticeably larger numbers of whales are suddenly dying? Got it. This makes perfect sense.

Boat house is closing, dunno if it is still open, there is a Zoo in central park too, but with schools out the place might be packed tomorrow, you can take her to the Jekyl and hyde across from the Russian Tea room for a drink, that place is a laugh

It’s not “all of a sudden”. It’s just noticeable now due to numbers … plus a concerted effort to blame the deaths on the offshore wind farm work that’s going on.

I had seen them near Mt. Tameney, never as far down as union county though. Actually, my wife spotted it on the tracks, we though it was looking for something.

In 2022, 267 nesting pairs of bald eagles were monitored in New Jersey. There are 250 active nests (meaning the nests produced eggs) and that was an increase of 28 active nests since 2021.
2022 NJ Bald Eagle Project Report is a pdf but it has a great map with every nest location.

I live in NW NJ and have seen one perched on a tree behind my property, one soaring above when walking on my street and another flew close overhead while we were at a nearby park. Love birds of prey, hopefully seeing many more Bald Eagles over time.

I'm going to guess it's avian flu. There have been recent reports of other marine mammals (seals) being found dead with it...I can't believe it wouldn't jump to others like whales and dolphins...sadly...
Ok, downvote away...it must be sonar....BUT...

Why now? There were whales feeding in the area since last summer. Lots of them! All of a sudden the boats are a problem?

Until they repair the Hackensack bridge and better manage the Amtrak - NJT logistics, it will never be a fast and reliable commute. But it will continue to be $$$$

I was walking distance to the train station. I lived there, sold my house and have since relocated to the central NJ area.

tl;dr it's fine for music or directions in my opinion (not a lawyer) but not for answering phone calls or texting.
Technically, the NJ MVC rules state that for drivers with a GDL or probational license (so, a step up from learners permit) aren't allowed to use a cellphone, not even hands-free. If CarPlay counts as hands-free phone usage, you're not allowed to use it. However, CarPlay for GPS or music is probably fine since that's not prohibited, and this is just how your car gets access to directions/music. You probably shouldn't be answering any phone calls, not even hands-free though.
>Use of a cell phone (hand-held or hands-free), hand-held video games or any other hand-held wireless electronic devices (i.e., ipods, GPS) is prohibited.

Technically you have to do something last I went. So its at least $1 or a quarter was the minimum. I normally just say give 5 $10 tickets or whatever

$200 - should cover tolls, parking and some dirty water hot dogs and a stroll through Central Park.
