Favorite: NJ Turnpike. I'm good at planning my drives and I'm never in a rush. I stick in the right lane and let the road lead me. No matter what part of the state you're in, this highway is very easy to drive.

Least favorite: GSP. whether it's the 5 lanes up north or 2 lanes down south, no one is in the correct lane for their speed. Too many wildcards to remain in the right lane, everyone is weaving and swerving in the left lane (or you're just getting undertaken by someone doing 10+ mph faster than you).

A cop doesn’t hold a flag. The low man on the construction totem pole does. Cops are present to prevent a pedestrian or motorist from interacting with said work/ in case something does happen. Sometimes it seems a bit much but that’s just how things are.

So long as you have a clean driving history prior to this, you do not need a lawyer. Go in a suit and be respectful to the prosecutor and they will likely merge and dismiss one of the tickets, and possibly drop the rate of speed to a lesser offense. I've seen it many times.

This is all of course under the assumption you weren't a disrespectful asshat to the officer on the stop, in which case, get fucked lolololol because he probably indicated that on the comments of the ticket so you'll have no breaks coming your way.

The Visiting Nurses of Somerset Hills (used to be VNA, now AVN because Atlantic health bought them after 100 years) runs a twice annual rummage sale. It has occurred in Far Hills for 100 years this sale. It will be in April to donate and May for the three day sale. It is also done in September for the October sale. The book barn has three rooms plus the outside area. The entire sale is about two to three football fields in size. You should come shop. If you want to spend 25% more, you can shop on the Thursday from the friends and family. You would need a wristband from a volunteer to be able to do that though.

Wrong. Overtime is not pensionable in NJ. Only your base salary is. He could work $1m in OT. It’s not going to increase his pension on cent.

Does anyone know if this guy “retired” before he took the director job? That could explain the large number. He could have retired from the police service and been cut a check for a career’s worth of unused vacation, holidays, comp time, and sick time (sick is capped at $15K and comp time 480 hours worth).

It’s not just unions. It’s the towns themselves. I know of a jurisdiction that had a massive opportunity to consolidate and not lay anyone off due to attrition (there were a large amount of people set to retire). They didn’t pursue it because they would lose home rule and there was just too much “unknown” for them.

No possibility of jail time. They just want cash. Like others have said dress and act respectfully. Ask to speak with the prosecutor and work a plea bargain. You’ll get pretty much what lawyers get without the added expense. Take a safe driving course to get the points off. And pays attention to what they teach you to avoid a repeat.

You’re correct in thinking that the construction companies are the ones paying to have traffic control and security. That said, it’s naive if you think that cost doesn’t get built into the project and thusly passed on to the general public. It may not be “tax dollars” but it certainly otherwise contributes to the high cost of living in this area.

With toddlers and babies I definitely recommend Ocean City. It has a beautiful boardwalk with 2 ride areas and clean beaches (you do have to purchase beach tags for the adults, but the money goes towards keeping the beaches clean and I personally think it's worth it). It's also a relatively narrow island so you're always going to have easy beach access.
