Re: jail time, you need to have done some serious shit to get jail time and unless you have multitudes of moving violations or negligently hurt someone while driving, it's verrrrry unlikely. If it you had f'd up that much, the cop probably would've taken you into custody right then. My bet is that they took off immediately looking to write another ticket.

Yeah, I'm not suggesting I agree with the whole practice. Personally, I think some dude who's new to construction is perfectly capable of standing and holding a flag or something for about $100 less an hour than a cop. But I also imagine that there is some benefit to having a cop doing it versus just some kid with a flag.

2200 a month is not enough to live in NJ, period. You can't afford to live anywhere in NJ on that salary without government assistance which you can't get because you're not a US citizen (I assume because you wrote 2.200 instead of 2,200)

Princeton is one of the most expensive places to live in NJ. 4,000 a month = 48,000 a year. Still not enough for NJ, especially not Princeton.

To put how expensive it is to live in this state - 58,000 for a single person per year qualifies for government assistance with rent aka low income housing, in every single county in this state. In Princeton, you can make up to 74,000 a year and still qualify for low income housing.

I also agree with those who said get a lawyer if you can afford it. Most do payment plans.

Not trying to give you misinformation since I don’t know 100%, but I’ve never heard of anyone doing jail time unless they hurt someone or are a habitual offender so I wouldn’t stress about that.
