I've racked up multiple speeding tickets over the years (10) and honestly at the end of the day the towns and state just want you pay the fines because they want the money. So if there's a fine to be paid pay it then go take some defensive driving classes to knock down your points and behave yourself for the rest of the year. I also have one reckless driving ticket by that was because I drove on the medium in greenbrook on rt22 for a few minutes to get to my exit the judge just had me pay a fine

If you’re ever in Newark, you should stop by Sihana Cafe. It’s an excellent cafe that also has a pretty good selection of used books for sale.

I really thought the body of the post was going to say “to paradise”
Get a lawyer, one of the ones who specialize in traffic stuff like this. They’ll get it knocked down to lesser tickets

Came here to say this! It just keeps GOING and GOING and GOING! You can find some great older and hard-to-find stuff, especially.

This is 100% true. My cousin is a high-ranking officer in Newark. Makes $150k a year dealing. My parents live in East Hanover, and they are pulling more than that. They are over policed.
Not to mention the piloce officers get the job because they know somebody and not based on qualifications.

At least the officers are getting a nice cut of the fee charged to whoever is asking for the service. We need EMT coverage for a 2 day event that I’m a part of and we were quoted $5k for the weekend. I bet those EMTs are still only getting $20-30 an hour if that. We did end up getting a better rate in the end.

St Claire's in Denville used to have a gift barn as a part of their thrift shop that was mostly books. Worth a google if nobody else responds with more info. It's close to Rockaway.

They are still doing that bc COVID isn’t over. Find a new vet with less strict COVID policies. If they are still operating like this now they will not stop any time soon.

The Chatham Bookseller in Madison is a personal favorite. Squeaky wooden floorboards, good poetry selection, good NJ section, ephemera, everything you need in a used book store.

Yup. I think this is why. Also, are they really vaccinating my pet? Was my dog weighed? We’re the ears checked? Was a temperature taken? Who the hell knows because I’m not in the room. How are they handling my dogs are they being gentle? It just a matter of time before some vet gets caught defrauding pet owners during covid because no one was actually in the room.

Came here to say this! Picked up a first edition of a book written in the 1800s that was an attack on the Catholic church, the book was banned and the author had to go into hiding. I held a piece of history in my hands while the guy behind the counter shrugged and said, "15 bucks?"

Rt 31 is the worst. It changes from 2 lanes to 1 several times. And you can be sure there will always be a slow moving truck in front of you.

You can do both. It’s not one or the other. There is so much waste with how these small towns can exist like duplicate town halls, council, fire department, EMS, and sanitation. There is a town that exists in North jersey that is only one city block. That is just ridiculous.

One thing I never understood is that why these lists are so old for information. State employees (as public servants) are updated every quarter. Teachers/police/ etc are updated on a significantly less frequently basis.
The data OP linked is from 2019; so who knows what changed.
