I feel this to a degree despite taking some pride in very distinctively NJ things. I spent some time growing up in near the northern parts of Morris, doing woodsy shit and all that and have definitely found more similar kindred spirits with people from parts of Northeastern states who realize I'm not stereotypical city kid or yuppie who decided to make outdoors stuff their personality later in life.

Great point. By the time residents get cancer, the politicians will be dead and the developers will be bankrupt. Once again leaving the tax payers holding the bag. But yay luxury condos !!!

I recommend searching the rates from multiple choices of insurance companies if your rates increase or just periodically, to make sure you are getting a good deal.

For years I had a policy with one company that was very low. Had no claims tickets or accidents. They raised the rates suddenly. Checking competitive rates I found the same coverage for much less from Progressive, and I switched saving myself about $500 a year.

Also if you specify your health insurance as the primary payer before car insurance kicks in, there is a substantial savings.

yeah.

The thing I don't get, and I get it, I'm beating the deadest of dead horses here, but the cognitive dissonance between that some consider "patriotism" and actual, patriotic actions and legislation.

Think about it: what's more patriotic than helping American people live better lives? Loving your country means loving its people, right? Following this logic, you'd think supporting things like paid parental leave, universal healthcare, and living wages is patriotism. But the ones who caw the loudest about being patriots largely seem to be against these things.

I think progressive politicians need to reclaim the "patriot" label. Just lean real hard into it, how voting for policies that benefit Americans is the most patriotic thing you can do. Don't let the ones who actively want to restrict Americans' rights be the ones hoarding the patriot label.

Absolutely love how people are easy to jump onto trying to bring up Ford's recall as if that'll somehow absolve this vehicles steering wheel falling off like it's okay. Like... They're both bad.

Or the theory people just drive around and take their steering wheel off on the highway for giggles and internet points.

Elon fan boys are something else.

The sharing of the license plate without anything to validate this incident occurred or even that the police are actively looking etc - VERY concerning. How do we know this isn't someone being stalked? Or someone wanting to essentially dox someone to get some kind of revenge/encourage harassment? It's one thing to warn of the situation as a possibility and another to give people the means to harass someone that we don't know actually did something.
