The pizza is definitely not a “tourist trap,” insofar as that term implies low quality pizza not deserving of its reputation. You may have to wait in line, though. In that sense, it can be a tourist trap. Try the popular places and pick your favorite.

New Haven is unfortunately not very bikeable. I’m seeing more and more bike paths everyday but they tend to go nowhere and end abruptly. We’re making progress on that front, though.

Don't listen to that guy. There's no tourist trap. Go to the pizza places during the weekdays or earlier hours. New Haven is a foodie paradise. In New Haven it's a pretty good bar scene and restaurant scene on state street as well as downtown on crown and college. Also good live music in the city. Or catch a play or something at the Shubert. Book of mormon will be in town in March.

Reataurants - Louis lunch, the Union league cafe, bar, the pantry, Claire’s cornucopia, Atticus bookstore cafe. Try out some diners. Ie the Parthenon in Branford. It’s not that diner food is the best there is, but diners are an American institution.

The original towns in CT are all built on parks called greens. All the churches and town halls were built around them. So you’ll see the New Haven green. When you visit surrounding towns, make it a point to see the town green. The guilford green is really nice, so is branfords.

For museums - Yale Art gallery and the Peabody are quite good. If you head to the casinos - the Indian museum is very good also - that’s at the Foxwoods casino. Wadsworth atheneum is hartford is good along with the art museum in new Britain.

Visit the mohegan sun casino. Even if you don’t like to gamble - it’s interesting to walk around.

Visit Hammonasset beach in Madison, east rock park in New Haven and go to the top, light house pint in New Haven. Google connecticut state parks. There are quite a few.

As someone said - you really can’t beat the train in to nyc. Take advantage of that. You can also take trains to Boston or providence ri. Even to hartford.

Good luck. Put her litter box and some food by the door where she got out. She may smell it and find her way back. Sometimes it takes a day or two, usually just a few hours. Does she have a microchip or a collar and tag?
