Feel free to disregard my comment (because I haven’t been to this place myself just yet) but i’ve heard some good things about Dali Tattoos on Whalley.

NYC still has dollar slice joints so while we don’t have any here, it’s not because they don’t exist anymore…
Best slice in the city is when Bar is doing them. Second best is Brick Oven. Marco Polo is on par with ok dollar slice joints but it’s more expensive.

Might try Marco Polo. Ain't New Haven style or anything fancy, but does the job.

If you're within an hour, daily commuting to NYC would be fine.
If you live farther out than that but still on the rail line, then 2-3 times a week is probably OK, especially if you can take an express train. More than that would get stressful.
If you're in Hartford or somewhere like Guilford or New London, then maybe once per week would be OK.
In the above, I'm assuming that once you get to NYC, you do not have another long train ride. Commuting from CT to NYC is pleasant if your office is at or very near Grand Central than it is if your office is somewhere down in Lower Manhattan. You can get a lot of reading done on Metro North, but waiting for and riding subways in addition to that adds a lot of stress

Brick Oven is a block away, is open late night and does slices. Dealer’s choice!

Fantastic. I was driving past a house party supposed to pick up a gaggle of Uber Pool riders. Didn't know whether to give Brick Oven Pizza a fair chance or not. Next time I'm in New Haven I'll be doing some experimenting 🥰🍕

I have a Dell 1080P you can have. It's got VGA and DVI connectors. I'm right in West Haven about 10 minutes outside of New Haven.

Bar used fo have slices available after 10pm. They were huge slices, definitely not a dollar but I remember it being a good bargain. No idea if they still do this, though

In east haven on route 1 the jiffy lube is phenomenal. The owner is legit the most upfront mechanic I’ve ever been to, and you are in and out FAST. Never once tried to upswell me, and they replace the wiper fluid feee as a courtesy.

I understand that, and I think everyone understands that prices go up.
But, they went up 25% in the spring, and another 25% just recently.
The price of a small tomato pie has more than doubled in less than 4 years. You have to admit that is outpacing most price increases.

If you're looking for dollar slices in 2022 in a city where a microstudio apartment is $1200 a month, you may need to compromise your high standards on who you eat it next to.
