alright, reading your comment more carefully - i think you're getting downvoted because people (including myself) have interpreted this as pedantry about subreddit rules in a potential crisis situation, but am i right in thinking that you're actually just encouraging this person to post there? the way you've worded it seems a bit like a scold at first glance, ftr.

>Breion Dickinson is missing from Delaware. We believe he’s currently in New Haven, Connecticut. (We don’t know why.)

>He left in the middle of the night and left a cryptic message with no details about where he was going.

>We know he took an Amtrak train to NYC then to CT. He was last seen in Union Station in New Haven, Connecticut yesterday afternoon, Monday, November 14, 2022.

>Breion is 6'2" and a high school senior. According to police, he was last seen wearing a red white & blue Tommy Hilfiger bubble jacket and white slides, and he has a blue/gold Nautica suitcase.

Definitely look at Milford as a 2nd option to New Haven. It’s the least quiet suburb in the area, has a great downtown, shoreline, food, community events, etc. You might be bored in Shelton, and Hamden has insane property tax without the schools to back it up.

Some spots to check out in Milford: downtown/harbor/green/duck ponds, Silver Sands boardwalk, Trumbull Ave, Gulf St to water, Beach Ave walk along water in Woodmont, Audubon Center. Great food at Strega, Scratch Baking, Walnut Beach Creamery (in season), Corner (brunch), Dogtown. Tribus Brewery. Stappa Winery in nearby Orange. Lots of good pizza, Jimmy’s and Papa’s are favorites.

Milford has several walkable areas (downtown, Devon center, Walnut Beach). In fact, much of the town south of Route 1 has sidewalks.

Easy access to NW CT with excellent highway access.

In New Haven, Downtown, East Rock, and Wooster Square is where you want to be. While Westville is nice and cute little center, and has the excellent Westville Music Bowl, it’s fairly small, smaller and quieter than Milford downtown and not well connected to the downtown New Haven area.

Roomies.com, roomster (have to pay subscription fee), Craigslist rooms & shares in NH area, Facebook market place, and Yale Free, For Sale & For Rent FB group.

Definitely join lots of the Yale off campus housing Fb groups. I was able to snag a studio sublet in Dwight for $1225 from a Yale grad and am renewing when her lease is up.
