Let’s Go Hawks. Agreed. That being said More private dollars coming in they closed on the finances. IMO biggest part is building more biotech space on speculation. New Haven is doing ok

If you’re a Yale affiliate, there are Facebook groups for housing near Yale. Folks from the big leasing agencies post listings and students post sublets often. There’s a big group and one specifically for graduate and professional students. Craigslist is not a good place to look here—mostly scams or dead numbers. Chelsea and Farnham are both legit. Slummy because campus property management is like that, but the apartments are at least real and they get you in to FaceTime or Zoom tour an apartment you’re interested in.

Housing prices are wildly inflated everywhere and New Haven is no exception.

>This sub-phase costs $76 million and is expected to be complete by 2025.

Now is probably an especially bad time to be looking because most leases will be running in line with the school year (August) or calendar year. In short: all the good stuff is likely taken.

My advice is somewhat dated but I had good experiences with Chelsea Company. Their properties aren’t luxury but they’re a solid management company and in some good locations.

It might be worth reaching out to them to see if any of their tenants need to break lease or if they otherwise have any vacancies that aren’t published.

There is a bus that goes into new haven from Hamden via Whitney ave. Hamden is incredibly safe along Whitney. Less so along Dixwell ave. If you can find an apartment in hamden within walking distance to Whitney ave I'd say it's a slam dunk. My mother walked this route for 30 years to her library position at yale.
