Where did I blame anyone? I just said to try not to judge people in that area too harshly because MOST of them are just there waiting for a bus. I've heard way too many people lump everyone in that area together when really there's just a very small handful with mental illness or drug issues who make an over sized impression. And the further truth is 99% of the time even the "crazies" will leave you along and not pay any attention to you, unless you are acting like you are way sketched out by their very presence.

Yes way more. Durham is spread out. Durham to me seemed much more gentrified than new haven too, although that’s hitting new haven pretty hard recently. CT is a really small state so everything is pretty close. If I have to drive 45 min soMewhere i piss and moan about it. Traffic is pretty horrible in both cities.

Thanks for the info! That definitely sounds more my speed culturally. Would you say that NH is more urban/walkable in feel than Durham? Also, if you need to make trips outside the downtown core to shop or run errands, is the traffic situation comparable between them?

Woman here, I went once with no problems so pretty sure it’s fine now. 😂 Their cook was out the day we went though, which I’m kind of bummed about after reading the other comments.
