Thanks for the concern, Pete. It was designed to handle larger vehicles as well, so I just checked it again with a 57' tiller in AutoCAD Vehicle Tracking, which is a very conservative program, and it makes it through just fine in the directions that would make sense for a responding vehicle. The sharp movements (Yale S to Chapel W, Chapel W to Yale S) would not be logical routes given the location of fire stations in the city and availability of more suitable parallel roads.

The new haven green has historically been pretty sketch. It’s been cleaned up a bit in the last few years, So if your new here you may not have experienced it’s true colors- but this is not an out of the ordinary occurrence that you Speak of.

Reply to Pre-K system by Rambonic

google “New Haven Magnet Schools.” The lottery is happening now through mid march. Select schools have free PreK3 and 4. If you live in a neighborhood with a school you get “preference” in the lottery if you select your neighborhood school as your top choice. (The only school without a preference neighborhood is Montessori bc it’s so high in demand.)

No chance the tiller fire truck can go through that. They’ll have to go around when every second matters. There are power lines that run right above it too. Bucket truck with trailer is going to be rough there.

Sorry this happened to you! Unfortunately I have had similar experiences where I used to live on Whalley around my apartment building.

Sorry that happened to you! It's the first I've heard of someone yelling out actual threats, but I have heard women talk about being harassed while walking near the green. I hope you can find some solution that makes you feel safe.

I think it might've been some dude that's either on something or just not quite right in the head. Just walk in places where there's other people, but yeah that sounds trippy.

This is how MLB screws itself and one of many reasons its fanbase is shrinking. Networks like NESN should be available on their own, but instead the cable companies bundle them so you have to pay for a more expensive package. I would pay for NESN by itself, but I don’t want to pay for 100 useless channels to get it.
