You're making the rather wild assumption that the train would be going top speed the entire way. Between theexpense of acquiring a sufficiently straight route (280 miles seems to run over Long Island Sound, not around it, and through multiple densely inhabited areas), the ridiculousness of non-stop between DC and someplace as small as New Haven, and the likelihood that they'd have to slow down simply to reduce noise pollution if they didn't go far out of their way to avoid human habitation, there's exactly zero chance of a 90 minute train from DC to New Haven.
Fun to imagine, though.

We’re all doing ok. It’s not ideal, but there is a bright side to look at for sure. And fortunately we’re in a position where we’ve been able to keep paying everyone for shifts while we’re closed so thankfully it hasn’t been too much of a disruption in people’s lives.

Edit: we’re open again as of Friday morning! Boiler is running and we’re inspected and clear. Yay!
(I’m gonna repost what I just put in another thread…)
Thankfully the damage was minimal, right now the hold up is getting the repairs/new boiler inspected and signed off on. We should be back at it in a day or two. Hopefully.
It certainly sucks, but we’re just so happy no one got hurt and the damage wasn’t crazy. Things could have been way way worse, and being closed for a week isn’t that bad in context. Plus everyone has been so kind and supportive, from the gaming community to neighbors to the fire department and everyone else, we’ve gotten so many good vibes.

I cook mostly all of my healthy/ pre workout meals but for my post workout food runs definitely PokeMoto, Taschi Bubble Tea, Elm Street Market for their buffet meals, that Carribean Vegan restaurant on Nineth Square. I don’t really like Claire’s copia that much but they’re alright. Pita Ziki is delicious too

Somos, Tai Chi (for poke), G Cafe, Atticus are all good. Fussy a little further out is good too, though I get the feeling quality has gone down slightly and prices have gone up.

That or the bike infrastructure is just not good enough for the casual bicyclist i.e. people who would otherwise choose an uber to get from union station to downtown or Yale.

Well, if you want luxe, Crepes Choupette is different and they have the best effin espresso in Connecticut. I could mainline that stuff- even without milk and sugar. They have both healthy and indulgent food. Warning: not the fastest service although it is a nice atmosphere.
