Just an FYI - the hours I posted above are recent & accurate. I work directly with P&R throughout the winter, so that’s all that’s available atm

New haven still has funding for the CASTLE program and some others through LCI and THE CONNECTION. They all offer assistance with rental, security deposits, back rent ect. I was facing an eviction and they helped me .I hope your situation looks up .

Also why not do Uber eats , door dash , go puff or Amazon flex ? You got the car . That's half the battle.

I know you diddnt ask for anything other than a spot to park but have you considered instacart? You have all the requirements already, and honestly if you're willing to put in the time and work from when stores open to close then you can honestly get yourself out of this situation relatively quickly. While still applying for jobs. It can be inconsistent sometimes but I do know people who do it as a full time job and it's easy, they also will provide perks like money off on oil changes and gas.

There's a soup kitchen at Wall and Temple Streets near New Haven Green called Downtown Evening Soup Kitchen (DESK). Hot meal, and a chance to socialize.

Keep a window cracked open in your vehicle on the street side, not sidewalk side, to let moisture out. Fogged up windows draws a ton of attention, and the mold/mildew that grow in the moist environment is dangerous to your lungs. If you have a sunroof, leaving it cracked open while you're away from vehicle will help air it out without inviting thieves.

If you need a night out of your car (especially if it’s cold!) know that nonstop during the winter the city runs several warming centers for overnight stays. You can access the hours and addresses via 211. Some of them have beds and serve meals, etc. I would recommend calling 211 to access warning centers, shelter if you’re interested, and possibly getting connected to case management resources to assist you along your journey. HOUSING- Also, look into the “I’m Home initiative run by New Haven (livable cities initiative website) as long as you fall below 300% of the federal poverty line they can pay a security deposit and sometimes utilities startup costs for you! Best of luck. Stay safe and warm.
