I can only offer 3ish year old anecdotal evidence, but the last time I had to apply for SNAP and Husky I just went in person without doing online first. I was there for a few hours, but once they brought me in it was super easy and I left with everything activated on the spot (just had to wait for my EBT card to come in the mail since I had lost my old one).

Now, that was pre-Covid so I have no idea if it’s all different now. Just a tip though, if you do go in, make sure to bring ID and a couple pieces of mail with you, plus if you can find something showing what you pay for rent (I think a letter from your landlord works).

Once you get all that up and running it’s really easy to do your reevaluations online. I just renewed my insurance a couple months ago and the website was pretty easy to deal with.

No real concrete advice but I think it's worth calling, if you can spare that time on the phone (yay being on hold!).

Otherwise you might be wasting a trip once you arrive here in CT and just show up at the office. (We've all shown up somewhere only to be told "you need an appointment" or "do you have X with you?" And X is at home on the counter...)

Good luck!

I'm also surprised to hear anything but glowing reviews for Makehaven, it is an utterly fantastic space. I've been a member for years now, and I'm always impressed by how much they continue to add and innovate.

Bounce U in Milford, there’s a beautiful park called Pease Place Playground in Woodbridge at 160 Pease road, the Milford mall has an awesome inside play scape on the 2nd floor. Someone mentioned the Trolly museum that’s an excellent place for kids, I’ve taken my son at least 10 times. Good luck! We’re also looking for ways to keep our toddler occupied during Christmas break! Happy holidays

If there are some unusual details you need to provide, you probably would be better off going in person, but it will likely be a bit of a wait depending on the time of day you go.

Address: 50 Humphrey St, New Haven, CT 06513

A link if you wanna try applying online: https://portal.ct.gov/dss/Common-Elements/How-to-Apply-for-Services/How-to-Apply-for-Services

Good luck! ❤️

Dunno what the "mixed reviews" are, but Makehaven is exceptional. Incredible facilities and people. You will do no better than that in the area.
