I mean what outcome do we hope to affect there? Assad won, as it was clear he would several years ago. Let’s pull the fuck out already, it’s not our country, it’s not our war, it’s barely even a matter of projecting force, it’s not like anyone is unaware we have aircraft carriers and ICBMs at this point.

I'm a biological woman, who continues to be so, who received gender affirming care in my teens for hormonal issues, like many other teens.

Not something to be legislated against.

If they wanted to ban children from having surgery, they should've made that the bill, not banning trans kids from existing.

That's not what the bill reads.

It's not limiting children from having sexual reassignment surgery, its limiting them from *any* treatment not aligned to their present gender. It bans gender dysphoria and pretends it is nonexistent.

Children and teens receive this sort of care all the time. They're just banning anyone from being trans before they are an adult. That's barbaric. You wouldn't have banned me from taking testosterone blockers and progesterone for my hormone issues when I was a teen, why ban children with gender dysphoria from doing so under the watchful eyes of doctors and therapists?

And sure, surgery on a child is a stretch, but how many times has that happened? 56. 56 times. "The Komodo analysis of insurance claims found 56 genital surgeries among patients ages 13 to 17 with a prior gender dysphoria diagnosis from 2019 to 2021." That's nationally. That is an absolutely microscopic number of people.

Wanna ban that? Whatever, make a bill for it. Don't ban normal healthcare for children that has already been occurring for a while. That's fucked.

23 times MORE children are killed by guns each year than have had sexual reassignment surgery, and we don't legislate those away now do we.

This article, referencing a Dutch study from 2022, gives a regret rate for puberty blockers of 1%. That's amazingly low when it comes to medical treatments.

Also did you deadass link a DAILYMAIL article for proof??? Smh

BAE, United Technologies, Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. Three “constituencies” that Kuster and Pappas protect. Even-if none are in Syria, it’s a quid pro quo for later support from other representatives.

The simple fact is that all this bill does is make it so that a child that believes or feels that they are trans cannot undergo any medical procedures until they be come a legal adult. Considering that a human brain doesn't finish completely developing until around 19-21 I don't think that's really that a terrible idea.

So glad someone said this. Often these personel are there in an advisory or other non combat roles. I am not saying that is the case here but people love to spout off about complicated shit like they know what they are talking about. The world is a complicated place but apparently it can be distilled down to a one or two sentence headline for all the prescient Einsteins out there to analyze. I'm not saying people in government are geniuses or fucking us over but give them at least a little credit and have a little humility when it comes to what you know or don't know ffs.

It's exceedingly rare on an international level that children medically transition at young ages. Many trans people never medically transition. The issue is the amount of misinformation people like yourself who fall victim to misinformation because you don't actually want to speak with trans people or their families. The church has no problem sexualizing children at young ages, parents calling their kids "Ladies man" or "heartbreaker" while parading them around and gushing about their little cishet crushes at young ages, people have no problem altering the sex organs of their young AMAB children through circumcision. There are many more examples, but I'll keep it brief for your benefit.

"Benefits adding $10K" isn't really a thing. Cash in hand is the salary, everything else is to clinch the deal. You could have the best health insurance in the country, but if the salary isn't livable, it doesn't matter.

Experienced network admin salary should be at least $60K in NH, without travel. That's before you get into certifications and specializations. Same job in Boston is easily $100K, for example.

For the most part, when speaking generally, I absolutely agree. With this particular issue, there are a lot of moving parts that date back decades. Some we don't know about. Others, we do. Too much to get into atm but I will simply say, at this point it has to do with the timing. Bad form to be pulling troops from an earthquake devastated country that we've been stationed in for years.

And of course, the hatred of Gaetz who presented this bill, is all encompassing. lol. Personally, I don't have a problem with anyone shutting him down.
