Timmer sounds like quite the catch.

Seconded. I spent a lot of years depending on bars for social circles. It's a fun social outlet for meeting a variety of people, or having the occasional hook up, but most of the friends you make, the only hobby or activity you'll share is getting drunk together. Clubs or meetups are better.

I mean, what do you want them to do? That's like getting mad that the evening news doesn't delve in to advanced statistics when they're giving a recap of last night's game.

Most people don't care about the reasoning, they just want to know how much snow they might get. The in-depth details are out there for those who want them, that's not what a weather report on the news is for.

I run a Meetup group called Manchester Friday Night Drinks; we go to different bar in the Manchester area every two weeks, its a great way to meet people in a casual friendly way and learn more about what's out there. Our next meetup is Friday, March 10 at Stark Brewing. https://www.meetup.com/manchester-friday-night-drinks/ .
