Why? In the 10+ years I've lived in NH, I've never had a problem with inspection stickers whether I paid $50 or $25. So why would I pay a higher price for the same thing?

If you have shitty enough weather, that output amounts to virtually nothing. Especially in the shortest days of winter where you're stacking the short days, low sun angle, and potential of snowfall literally covering the panels temporarily/further interfering with sunlight reaching them.

Scroll to the bottom for a cold spell w/uncooperative weather and the solar outputs estimated:

I mean, that's very easy to prove correct, since it's happened recently.

We hit 40% oil-fired generation on Christmas Eve this year, and prices spiked to over $2,000/MWh around that time.

You could also just go straight to the source: https://www.iso-ne.com/isoexpress/. "Resource Mix Graph" and then pick 12/24/22 and look at it. At peak, we were generating 6.5GW from oil that day.

popular direct has savings rate at 4.40% for cash - I have an old capital one account I was about to close but they are doing an 11 month CD for 5% which is appealing. I've held off as I think rates will continue to go higher.

mind you we're all still just losing money vs. inflation but at least it's slightly less loss

Especially as large-scale renewable sources continue to grow, the need for short-term storage will only grow as well. That will help with short-term generator capacity in two ways. First they may not have to spin up as often. And second, the storage can capture some of the wasted output.

close altogether.

What the heck is going on with these accidents. Are people just being lazy about winter driving best practices because of the mild winter? Forgot about how to drive in winter weather?

We haven't had any real surprises, or out of nowhere ice events. Just seems interesting the shear volume of vehicles involved in the incidents and the uptick in incidents.

Did they do away with them? eating inside or outside a driver texting can still plow through the building, I’m sure they stood a purpose that was not my complaint, my complaint is it made the downtown look rather dumpy. Almost had this “please excuse our appearance while we’re renovating” feel to it.
