If you drive prudently for the conditions, you’ll be fine. A few tips: 1) Heading northbound, there is a long downhill section between Exit 11 and Exit 12. Cops are always waiting at the bottom to bust northbound drivers coming down that hill. 2) Heading northbound, there is a steep downhill section into a curve immediately after the Springfield Rest Area. Be very careful in this section in the winter. 3) Heading southbound, there is a steep climb to Exit 16. This section is prone to icing winter conditions. Don’t follow any trucks in this section in the winter, because they often can’t make the climb and they don’t realize it until it’s too late.

Oh good point about Meetup. Do not make an account if it's against policy, that is for your safety. Maybe if a parent makes an account, you can find a club in your area that involves teens with their parents. After attending a couple Meetups with a parent, you might find a few new friends that way. Your parent may be up for a new friend or two as well :) Pick an event you may both enjoy. Also, about libraries, I think Derry is for Derry residents only, so check with your local one.

The stretch from Exit 10 in Sutton to the Springfield Rest Area is a microclimate. It snows there when it’s not snowing anywhere else. The section in the Enfield notch (Exit 15-16) can also be tricky. The section from Exit 9 in Warner to Concord is usually fine in the winter.

The bottom line is MPD could have stepped in and assisted with the matter but it sounds like they opted not to. Hats off to you for doing diligence and notifying the actual owner. People make mistakes and it’s nice to hear that every now and again when they do, their property isn’t burnt to the grown because of it.

I suggest waiting another year, here’s why… I just barely made the cut off for first grade but started at 5 yo anyway, and I was developmentally a year behind my peers until I was held back in 4th grade. That was tough to live through for several reasons. Now your child may be ready, which would then negate the thought behind this, but something to consider.

Happy Ending! :) It was fun for me to follow along.

and yes, we're all wondering why the cops didn't run the plates. That's darn near automatic first thing cops do behavior.

If you're bored, you could shoot a note to the chief of police to ask WTF and possibly bring this poor service to his/her attention.
