My mom's birthday was also October 3rd, and her school system in Massachusetts also had the same cutoff. Her parents got around it by sending her to Catholic school so she could start kindergarten at age 4.

She so very much hated being one of the very youngest kids every year that when the possibility of me skipping a grade came up she vetoed it because was already one of the younger kids in my grade..and I was in my 30s before she admitted it had been suggested, twice!

My younger brother went to Readiness (anymore remember that? In the late 80s it was an extra grade between kindergarten and first grade) because he had at that point untreated ADHD, and she only agreed to let him skip 6th grade because he would be with kids the same age as him.

I understand my mom's stance about not wanting to set us up to be the least mature in our classes. Of the 4 kids I knew who graduated high school at 17, only one of them graduated college 4 years later.

This!! If NH were isolated, it would be ranked extremely poorly by the vast majority of metrics. The only reason we do so well on so many metrics is because of the opportunities, talent, and services offered within our region. Without the opportunities afforded by neighbouring jurisdictions and their well-paid workers travelling to NH, we would be far worse off. Sadly, rather than actually improving NH to be strong on its own as well as benefitting from the region, many Granite Staters are content with the easy route of relying on our neighbours to fuel the state.

I dunno about right wingers. I do know Biden and the democrats missed out on an easy W when their popularity was waning before Ukraine and post lock downs / post Afghanistan before the midterms. They held the presidency and both houses of Congress. They could have legalized weed if they wanted too.

100% bs that the cops won't take the time to look up the owner. Dumping, and illegal parking isllare a crimes, and they are refusing to investigate it.

Call the police and keep complaining about it until they send someone willing to do their job. A mid-level detective makes around $83k per year in base wages before any overtime or hazard pay (which can be significant), keep raising a stink until one of them does something to earn that paycheck.
