I think that you just needed a teacher to sponsor your club if you wanted to form one and if there was demonstrated interest. I think that teachers got paid to help manage a club back then. I suspect that this varies widely by school district. It's probably harder in a small school than a very large one.

Our local YMCA was packed last night with kids and adults. Sports is one way to meet other kids. The other things that you are interested in are probably less common in terms of people getting together to do them. Those are good areas to start one or a few YouTube channels for.
When I was a teen, I was in the math and chess clubs and I also had part-time jobs so some fairly natural ways to meet people. The math and chess stuff was just at school unless we were traveling for competitions.
Market Basket hires a lot of teens and they seem fairly happy there to me and I often see them chatting together.

Huh, now I want to try it. Do they have it in “no sugar” like the Dr. Pepper with cream? I love that one.

I mean, I get this, and I'm not too upset about it, but at the end of the day having licensing and standards for people who are using dangerous chemicals and razor blades near your face and neck isn't the worst idea. The threat of losing your license is one of the reasons people are careful.

Oh yeah that could def be it. My ex had talked it up so much (I guess he heard from his coworkers how fab it was) that I was just surprised how meh the food was despite the restaurant being packed. The menu and ambiance was just what I liked (elevated and trendy) but it just …. Wasn’t that great.
Guess I need to scrounge up a new date for when it reopens to try again 😂

I agree. I think they’re trying to keep up with Amazon so they allow it.

It was fantastic in its prime but has struggled a bit since the pandemic. I think maybe they got stretched a bit thin combining the Campo & Republic menus in one place, and probably had staffing issues like everywhere else. I've got my fingers crossed the new owners make the most of its legacy.

Haha I actually just did the same. Got quite a bit of sleet last night and I was watching the weather this morning and they were talking of how cold it’s supposed to be. Got out and salted while it could get some sun.

My HS had a lot of clubs (mid 2010’s) but I found them very high pressure and full of “I need this for my college application” types. Always ended up feeling like another class where there would be some giant, resume worthy high pressure project or competition at the end of the semester to prep for and if you ever missed a meeting you’d get blamed and shamed by other club members for being lazy… or legit get kicked out.
I ended up legit not being in any clubs after freshman year bc I kept getting sick all the time and would get shamed for not being able to go every single week.

If NH eliminates licensure requirements and does not monitor the industries, what happens when things go wrong? Is anyone responsible? If an electrician, not licensed, wires a house and it burns down, and the insurance guy or the fire marshall investigating determines it is faulty wiring, what happens?

Am I the only one that had a kinda disappointing time there? I went on a date there last summer and I can’t remember what I had…. Some meatball thing and the center was cold. My ex liked his food and I liked the ambiance but didn’t think the food was anything special

I spent 30 minutes clearing off the cars this morning. Fortunately the sun was out which helped quite a bit. I'm going to move the cars after I have a cup of coffee and then clear the ice on the driveway. Temperatures are getting a lot colder tonight and tomorrow and avoiding the deep ice freeze is a good idea.
I've been doing this since the 1970s and this year has actually been a lot easier than usual.

Soooo we definitely should be paying attention to the storm Tuesday & Tuesday night here, which looks to include a feature notorious for concentrating repeated blasts of snow to it's north, or over us. I of course am excited because this feature is partially related to what my senior thesis focused on. It's not going to drop 30" of snow, but my opening bid is already 10-16" for a good chunk of the state

My driveway is kinda challenging for my car so I always do a good salt before it begins to snow. It’ll keep some snow off but more importantly won’t ice up on bottom.

To be fair, if they didn't get those tax breaks then they could write off those taxes on their federal taxes. They're business expensives.
The point being they were always going to get some type of break that you aren't getting.

Go to local candy stores and ask sometimes they can order products for you. Also request to talk to a market basket store manager. If they have an option to order something for their store but don’t have space on a shelf for it they can order it for a customer and have them pick it up later that week.

We do have clubs, but it's hard to get into them. There's an initial club day, and if you miss anything then or decide to try out something else instead, it's very difficult to join later on. The club I've stayed consistent in is crafting, and while quite fun, there's only one other kid. My music lessons and homework took priority over debate, so I don't have that option anymore.
