This isn’t my outlook at all but people are probably mad because it’s in Manchester. Seems to be an idea in this state that people who live in cities like Manchester, Nashua or Portsmouth are scum and building affordable housing will attract more scum. These same people would also most likely laud an affordable housing plan in a smaller or rural town.

Well in the meanwhile lets treat them as a serious threats because, again, to the hispanic community, to the jewish community, to the african american community, to the indonesian community, and all the other minority communities the difference between a kid screwing around and a organized hate group is very very thin because for us, having the benefit or more aptly, the misfortune, of decades of experience dealing with bigots the jump from a bunch of swastikas on walls or getting called names by some punk to getting beat up or a person shooting up a community center is not that big.

I get it that people want to show that its not a big deal, that this are a minority of people doing this, that we shouldn't give them the time of day and that's a valid reaction. It's still hard for me not to take it with some level of fear, it just hits different. I think the most applicable way I can illustrate this is by comparing reactions I got when I told people. When I told friends from here about it they were supportive, furious, or apologetic to my feelings. When I told my mom back on the island her reaction was a sigh of resignation and just two words "Ten cuidado" "Be careful".

This post breaks my heart. I’ve never seen such open hatred aimed at a minority group so proudly. So much bigotry shown by NH saddens me. Libertarians are people too, just like the rest of us. You guys (bearded chicks included) should be ashamed of yourselves! DO BETTER NH! Thoughts and prayers to our persecuted libertarian brothers and sisters! I’m sending money to Ukraine to fix this wrong!!! 👊

You guys sound fun! I hope you figure something out that you enjoy. April’s indeed a tough time of year up here and the public transportation situation is abysmal.

Amtrak does have three stops in the state, all on the Seacoast: Exeter, Durham, and Dover. Unfortunately, none of these feature any place within biking distance that will astound you with natural beauty or spectacular stargazing.

You’re going to want to drive and you’ll want to head north, maybe somewhere like Lincoln or North Conway - both small mountain towns that offer some good dining, natural beauty, and dark skies. A drive along the Kancamagus (the route through the mountains connecting these two towns) at night will offer a number of pull-off locations to park and look up.

Keep in mind road shoulders could still be clogged with snow, sand, and other wintry debris. I personally wouldn’t be keen on biking in these areas at that time of year but I’m sure people do.
