I’ve known them probably 16 years working in walking distance. Amore salad with feta and Italian at least twice a week haha. They ended up knowing my whole family by name and would ask how they were or how I was when they went in. I don’t even work in salem anymore and I still try to go often. They met my kid and when he was old enough to “have sweets” she would hook it up every day with her delicious baked goods. She would sneak desserts in for him with notes like every time. So i started tipping fat bc they are too underrated and nice. I worry they loose money just because they are so nice. My family has had them come to parties and they’ve invited us to theirs, their history before coming to America is quite interesting to say the least.

It’s not irrational. Thinking it is is a privilege of someone that didn’t get it badly or have to caretake someone who got it badly. Over 60% of deer ticks in NH carry the bacteria that causes Lyme. No need to stay in your house, but definitely use precautions laid out on this thread.

Edit to add: other ticks besides deer ticks carry other nasty tick borne illnesses like babesia, erlichia, anaplasmosis, etc. you do the same stuff to prevent the other ones but just because you weren’t bit by a deer tick doesn’t mean you’re in the clear

Lived in CA for a few years. What I missed was the sound of what I call the NH laugh, the from the heart, hearty laughter heard in public places like restaurants, town meetings before they begin, any places where people line up. It was that auditory sense of uninhibited self that I missed the most

Will really depend on unemployment. With stagflation, crappy business earnings, rising rates (which the fed will def. raise), and record consumer debt... Something's going to break. We're just in the beginning phases of layoffs.

Will it plummet as much as it rose? Probably not, but a 15-20% decrease wouldn't be off the table depending on area. Housing is typically 15 year cycle and we're entering a new cycle.
