-20°F is equivalent to -28°C, which is 244K.
^(I'm a bot that converts temperature between two units humans can understand, then convert it to Kelvin for bots and physicists to understand)

Well given residual snow, gusty NW winds above the tree line, wind chills falling below -20°F in the afternoon, & trails potentially hard to navigate after fresh snow, my initial thought is she should wait. A few questions:
-
What trail will she be on and what's the hut she's trying to reach?
-
What time is she starting the hike on Friday?

My wife is hiking to an overnight hut in the whites Friday then back down Saturday. I’m starting to wonder if that makes any sense.

"Their", "They", "They're" instead of we, our? Sure didn't sound like you were owning it to me. I give you credit for being open and honest that you are a Free Stater. Many pretend to be Republicans or Democrats to hide their political agenda in seeking election.

Here’s a story I just came across for the first time.
I wasn’t previously aware of the efforts of the purpose-created Northeast Timber Salavage Administration (NETSA) largely executed by the WPA and CCC.

That was precisely my family and me at Crotched Mountain on Saturday. Like scraping sand off of concrete.

+1 on tick tubes. I'm going to be putting mine out in march. Ticks suck here.
I'm religious about checking myself for ticks and will always call the doctor and hold on to the body of the tick if it embeds itself.

I want to say they were “dog ticks”, but I’m not certain.

One plaza over from the Guitar Center is a store called Music & Arts. Went there to get a clarinet for my kid. They had decent prices and selection of guitars, albeit small. Worth checking out.
Sucks cause my dad worked for Daddy's Junky Music when I was a kid. Moved away from the state for 20 years and just got back and learned they went out of business a while ago. I went there for bass lessons in high school.

This is an investment but the best thing we did was install a cedar fence around our yard. We rarely see them inside that perimeter. Our dog mostly gets them on walks on side of road but luckily most are dog ticks vs deer ticks. Through checking upon return helps a lot but we still miss some
