I cannot stand romance, but My Big Fat Greek wedding is pretty entertaining. I should reiterate. I don’t like sappy romance.

I hate comedy but love hubie halloween.

Hacksaw Ridge. I’m not a fan of war dramas, but I saw the last half of this when my partner was watching. Was so interested I checked out the entire movie the next day and thought it was excellent.

Not a musical fan, but I absolutely love La La Land.

John Wick 4’s cinematography is outstanding.

Always great to see someone passionate about cinema but boy i couldnt disagree more. They look good at times but man is there some shoddy cgi here and there and the cinematography can get repetitive.

The 4th is over the top.. stay for the credits

The 2nd one is one of the best looking and sounding 4k blurays imho.

I guess I assumed it was his usual posse of criminals he’d worked with many times before and he was just cutting them in on a score to retire on.

Close Encounters of the Third Kind is the first one that comes to mind for me… one of my favorite films. The five note melody that the aliens use to communicate with humans is both diegetic in the world of the film and mixed beautifully into the John Williams score. It probably would’ve won an Oscar if John Williams hadn’t written the Oscar-winning score for Star Wars that same year.

Dead Man (1995)

Neil Young does the entire soundtrack on electric guitar, with a lot of reverb. It often is jarring and adds to the surreal nature of the film, which is ostensibly a Western at first glance. Johnny Depp stars.
