So I will say this to start. You said market fatigue. MCU movies released last year were #4,6,8 in gross. So 3 of the top 10. Also 2 were not released in the US. And the others were all sequels. I'm a huge Star Wars fan. Personally I love everything in the universe and enjoy what I get.

If you look, on any of the Netflix thumbnails it says "RRR Hindi" not just "RRR." So I guess they must have only gotten the US rights to the Hindi dubbed version? It's very odd.

The original language is Telugu, and unfortunately is not available on Netflix in the US. If you want to watch it in Telugu legally in the US, there's a streaming service called ZEE5 that has it, or if you have an Alamo Drafthouse theater near you, it's playing on Sunday this weekend.

I'm not a very big supporter of illegally watching movies, but this seems like a circumstance where it is pretty justified. I don't understand why they'd put it out on Netflix without the original language, but here we are.

Sure - top ten, in the US only, two months into the year, leaning on 60s and 70s nostalgia, with overt religion-specific messaging - albeit by all accounts not too heavy-handed: That's pretty niche, my dude.

It's really not surprising to me that nobody on an international forum has talked about this film before you did; Particularly given that Reddit can oft bear the reputation in some circles of being a hive of scum and villainy.

The superhero genre wasn't nearly as big in the 80s. The Christopher Reeve Superman movies were big, but there wasn't anything comparable to the MCU today. Nobody took Batman seriously until the Tim Burton films
