Depends what they're being cancelled for, I still sometimes watch Kevin Spacey movies despite the fact that he's a sex offender in real life because he's acting as characters that aren't him, I'm not gonna stop watching A Bugs Life, House of cards or Kpax because of his crimes but if people can't bring themselves to watch his movie or TV shows that's their choice but it is just that a choice, on the other hand and I'm probably gonna get attacked left right and centre for saying this but IMO I think anyone who is burning Harry Potter books and boycotting Hogwarts legacy in the nicest way possible needs to get over themselves and get a life lol I could go on about the complexities of JK Rowling being cancelled but I don't fancy getting ripped apart by ten ton of keyboard warriors I do think it is massively mountain out of a molehill that people are not only boycotting the game but are vehemently attacking and targeting streamers and people who play the game it's lynch mob mentality but again I'm not on twitter or Facebook so I'm not familiar with how social media is nowadays but yeah the cancel thing depends on lots of things and it's too complicated to get into.

You guys are missing the point. Rupert is A) a psychopath stalker and B) wants a free ride all the way to the top. One of the defining things about that character is that he’s never performed his standup before. Yes the gatekeepers are keeping him from getting on TV, but he’s never even thought about going to the clubs — where there is far less to no gatekeeping — and working on material. He wants to be famous for fames sake, not because he has talent or passion or anything

A great and emotional movie and very re-watchable in my opinion.

What I remember most and liked the most about this movie was the incredible score by Thomas Newman.

This movie just didn't hit me the right way. I didn't like any of the characters, didn't appreciate any of the tension or tragedy that they experienced. It was very beautiful and had a few amazing scenes, but the actual emotion of a lot of those scenes felt flat to me and it made the score seem heavy handed, like it was saying "look at how amazing this movie is!"

The mask scene for example was really fun and entertaining but I don't understand the significance or what actually happened. She managed to scare everyone into thinking she was possessed (after they were shit talking her). Then the door burst open and the wind was blowing around the room, so I would have been into it if they leaned into the supernatural angle. But it turns out she really was just pretending? Why did the door fling open then?

I went in fairly blind besides reading the plot synopsis, not really sure why it's hitting me different than most other reviewers. Am I looking at the movie "wrong," or do other people agree? Not trying to shit on the movie, it was very well made, but maybe you can explain some of the things I didn't like

Almost nothing happens in the entire film. 60% of the run time is characters just sitting down/eating/being high without anything meaningful happening, 20% is just girl feeling sad, and the other 20% is excessive violence/absurd screeching. It felt like the film thought it had some clever feminist message to impart but it never got to it. None of the decisions made in the film make any sense when considered for more than 5 seconds.

I watched the film due to it getting hyped up but I couldn't find anything worthwhile in it at all.

Probably going to be a lot of sarcastic comments in this thread, but for anyone who has young children (ie the target audience, not edgy redditors) the first film actually went above and beyond to deliver an exciting film with a good message that's easily digestable for a very young audience. Compared to a lot of the low effort dross young children are subjected too, the first film was great so I'd recommend checking it out if you have kids aged 3 and up.
