My take on the film is that there is no villain here, but it's due to all the minute intricate emotions that we, as human, sometimes forget to address.

Reply to I keep end up disliking good films simply because all the characters are sad degenerate fucks and I hate them for it. Is there a trick to liking these kinds of films? by KellyKellogs
Get off your high horse maybe? Not everyone can be so pure as you are.

I love the movie but it's essentially a knock off of Conan the Barbarian, opens with a raid, main characters family gets murdered, gets captured and forced to be a gladiator meets a friend then gets revenge at the end of the movie

I thought this movie is about shitty fathers. Charlie left his wife and Daughter to be with another man, that right there is a bastard move, and that man's father was also what lead him to suicide. 2 stupid father we got there right off the bat.

Couple of weeks.
You had the time to watch it but didn't, ao you lose your right to complain about spoilers.

Light Sleeper is so good.
Brilliant work from Defoe. I love how they never resort to ex-junkie suffering a relapse for cheap drama. Defoe's character is clean and stays clean. The drama is about him wanting out of his environment without a plan to do so.

Personally I feel like if something has been available to the public for two weeks it’s fair game.
I don’t intentionally spoil things if I know someone doesn’t want to know, but I think it’s a dick move to expect the rest of the world to cater to you if you’re just putting off watching something.
If something is so important that learning things about it will enrage you, then you have a responsibility to see it in a timely manner

Just my opinion on the most flawed. The term monster derived from Ellie’s mother calling her evil. Also her behavior was wild. But let’s discuss it!

Not a spoiler is you haven’t seen it but I wouldn’t recommend reading the above! It’s a complex movie, I recommend!

What character do you identify with the most or feel is the most flawed?

If you want a TV show, you could watch Lost, the first season of Heroes or the first season of The 4400 (Heroes and 4400 went downhill after the first season).

Since you are not against watching a foreign movie (in this case from Spain or Argentina) I would recommend the Truth behind his eyes, The Invisible Guest (it's a trilogy), God's crooked lines... They are very good! It's more detective like solving clues/crimes...

The fear street trilogy has an insane soundtrack. They only use very small snippets I assume so they don't have to pay royalties etc but still incredible soundtracks.

Thank you for sharing your insights. This truly is a very loving film, yes.
And thank you for sharing your beautiful story of your husband's last day. I'm sorry for your loss and I am glad you have this lovely memory of him.

Bastard move FOR SURE. But do you think that means he left Ellie or just his wife?
