Yeah, that makes sense. I suppose if they knew that he was a white supremacist and obvs can see his shaved head, they know he's a kid who actively hates them because of their race and that is enough motivation, regardless of Danny's intentions in that scene. I think maybe I was focusing too much on just that scene, not the whole context.

Edit: typo

Dragon Blade is not good by any means, but I really wish more people saw it for the madness of a Chinese-produced movie about Ancient Rome fighting Ancient China with John Cusack being terrible in the co-lead, Adrien Brody chewing the scenery as an insane Roman Emperor and a whole shit-ton of Australian extras.

My boyfriend is hard of hearing and his experiences with CC devices is hit or miss. Often they aren’t charged, and die before the movie is over. Most theaters don’t test them to make sure the movie came with a caption file, is the projection system reading it and sending it to the transmitter, is the reader receiving it from the transmitter? If any part of this process fails - no captions.

Your best bet is to go to a smaller theater, ask to talk to the manager upfront, educate them about the devices and how they work, and build a relationship with them.

Being hard of hearing isn’t just about volume. It’s also about clarity. Some HoH people can’t hear certain pitches, or they hear low tones so well that they can’t hear anything else… it’s really not enough to just use headphones.

I’m gonna get so much hate for this in this sub I’m sure of it, but I think Avengers Endgame is a good example.

People will undoubtedly say that Robert Downey Jr is the star but I’d strongly disagree and argue that each character brings an equal amount of importance to the story and general direction of the movie.
