Yeah, all I meant by that comment was that the fun seems to have been taken out of it from some time, like they've somehow forgotten to include that aspect in movie making. Even dramas can have some element of ridiculousness, as Goodfellas and Casino do. Cartoonish, but vivid characters and events are what I pay money for. "Story" feels more like "content" to me without it.

Kicking and Screaming (1995). Though it could be argued Grover is the only one with progression as a character.

Really good one. Warrior’s such a great movie.

Cup holder devices works pretty well. You might want to also look for "Open Caption" screenings. These are screenings of a movie that will have captions on the screen that everyone sees.

I’m blown away! Wow! Watched it last night on a whim and had no idea where it was going and then the end happened. I was speechless and started to replay the movie in my head. After watching it a second time this is a straight up masterpiece. What a amazing debut!

Warrior (2011). I can’t remember if they actually show it, but Tommy rips the door off of an armoured vehicle. He also shows great strength in his fights.

Rush Hour 2. Don't watch the 3rd one.

There actually isn’t much to acquire. Sundance 2023 had only one animated feature film and distribution rights for it in the USA were acquired by a small company a five months before the festival. Most animated films are made by large companies with lots of money so they already have distribution. My local film festival usually only has one or two animated features and they are usually not very good Asian ones desperately searching for a USA distributor.

I used to work at a movie theater. We did not have CC but we did have hearing assist headphones. If she is just hard of hearing and not actually deaf then that is the way to go. Just tell the person at the box office and they will get you a set or call the manager to get you a set.
You can also call ahead and ask your local theater what they have for hearing impared people.

Probably not as much as it used to happen in the industry, but I still say that has to be what happened with Alden Erenreich having a bit part in Hail Caesar! to playing young Han Solo.

Mika Ninagawa's Helter Skelter (2012), a superb, surreal Japanese film about a surgery-addicted model starting to fall apart. I believe you can find it on Netflix (and mind you don't confuse it with either of the two films about Charles Manson bearing the same title).

I do understand that some movies are just for a bit of fun. But it still takes the other qualities to build it and make it good. So many now just lack on all fronts.
I feel as though it does just play to ADHD well for me. The shorter watch time is one of them. And I enjoy familiarity, but that’s something I’m actively trying to combat. (I get waaay too comfortable in my comfort shows).
Ah, yes. I’m with you. I think that’s why I enjoyed Black Mirror so much. I still need to watch The Last of Us.
I’d really appreciate that! Thank you so much, Mister Friend

They are awful movies, but you can't say they haven't done what they were intended to do... Make money.
This is for all the live action films.
Budget $313 million
Box office $1.280 billion
