Hah they aren't for everyone. I actually thought this was about my other comment in another post on It Follows initially lol

It’s up there but not even my favorite Mann film. I’d put it behind Thief

Back when l lived with mom prior to her passing, and Netflicks mailed dvds, l rented hundreds of movies that were difficult to find (do they still do that??).
I would search for unwatched movies on the icheckmovies.com website and picked the most critically acclaimed films. Because of this, l'm ranked in the top 1% of users. I LOVE that website!

Someone said something similar about The Simpsons: it's not that the show predicted the future, it's just that we still have the same problems we had in the 80s because we haven't fixed any of them.

Honestly yeah as a kid I hated the thought of our world going back to the dark ages, but now I think it's really going to happen one day.

I'd argue Spotlight and Chicago 7 still have pretty clear main characters/protagonists even though the whole cast is heavily featured.

Yeah, I’m genuinely impressed with that catch. That’s really great. Things like that make me miss stuff like Pop Up Video back in the day where references or little details would be highlighted as they happen. Scott Pilgrim on Blu Ray had a feature like that with filmmaking facts throughout.
There’s just so many things in pretty much any movie that the audience has no idea the subtle significance of.
Also, Licorice Pizza fucking ruled.

Love this movie, first time around was special. A lot of people here don't like it due the the implausibility factor, but I personally don't mind.

I'm happy to, buddy. I have a few others, if you're curious. I may be a lot older than you, but I know the movies that keep me coming back, and I suspect they'll translate well for you. They keep your attention because you find yourself strangely invested in what happens next.
Big Trouble in Little China (give it a little time for lead-up into crazyland).
Goodfellas and Casino are movies that woo you with the glamour of the crime world and then carefully explain why it's a trap in the second act. Boogie Nights has similar themes.
Not only do I believe these movies will captivate you, but they might help you to "train yourself" to enjoy other movies as well. Developing an appreciation for something for ADD/ADHD people often requires for you to know what to look for in a good movie. When it just seems like a diarrhea of spectacle or a dry nothingburger, you have no anchor to accept why others might watch it, but it's there. I hope for anyone to love cinema, because it's always been my comforting escape.

Mine's probably one of the corny romantic comedies I've seen like Imagine Me and You. Not because they're cinematic masterpieces but because I'm a sucker for a good love story.

I worked at a cinema for my first job and have kept on the books and doing the occasional weekend shift there even tho now I have a corporate job. Sometimes they’re rough shifts, but worth it to just be able to walk into a cinema without paying on an off day.

Similarly, the longest day. I believe John Wayne got top billing but he was no more prevalent Richard Burton, Henry Fonda, or Robert Mitchum
