Jackie Chan's characters usually display strength through endurance. They can stay on top of a fight after facing a bunch of difficult stunts and curveballs.

To no surprise, Layer Cake is also in my Top 10 favorite movies of all time.
Underrated gangster flick and yes I’m glad they stole some of the spirit from it because that movie has so much swag and class.

I always saw Tim Roth as the main character of Reservoir Dogs.

There is no amount of drama in Everything Everywhere that can undo the inanity of dildo fights and evil bagels. The ‘drama’ is all extremely surface level and obvious, and it’s constantly being derailed by stupid random humor. It has no tonal consistency and it all just falls flat. It isn’t funny, it isn’t clever, and it isn’t emotional. It’s barely a step above the average Marvel movie in terms of cinematic substance. Swiss Army Man felt much more authentic and organic in its weirdness and I think that’s the far superior Daniels movie as a result. Everything Everywhere is just a sequence of random things that happen and there’s no joy in any of it.

Best cold open.
Best song.
Best opening action sequence.
Best torture scene.
Martin Campbell should do more Bond films. He directed two of the best.

I've heard Joker compared to Taxi Driver too. Also De Niro/Scorsese

Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan in basically all their movies, for a different take on strength than your examples.

Which is also hysterical because if there's one industry that has benefitted from the internet, it is stand-up comedy. There's a ton of great comics doing the work themselves. So while it is still a great movie, if anything, it's as irrelevant as its ever been.

Unbreakable - the scene where him and his son are just testing out the newfound strength by piling on more weight to the benchpress and he is just as shocked as anyone that he can just keep going. Really great, grounded approach compared to what a more 'standard' hero flick would do (throw a truck at him)

Reply to If the film 65 with Adam Driver were to have a plot twist, what do you think it would be? by Aralmin
My guess would be that they are Adam and eve. Figuratively. 65 million years ago, humans land on a planet full of dinosaurs. 65 million years later, here we are. I think it's fair to assume from the trailer that they can't leave.

Somebody just posted that famous scene from Network saying they were surprised by how relevant it was. It's just a universal, evergreen sentiment about living in western society

What did they do in the movie that wasn't in the book? You lose some of Donna's characterization and we don't spend as much time seeing the New Hope but the book events are pretty much all there even if some Barris stuff is out of order compared to the book.

Turkish also provides narration, which other characters do not.
