I guess in some ways they are just drug induced stories without too much meaning or even nonsensical. But he is a hell of a filmaker, if I watch Phantom Thread I can get totally engaged in that strange, abusive and romantic relationship within that fancy world which is shot so beatifully.

I think Hanks is great as Forrest but I do think it’s isn’t even that good of an acting job.

Besides the scenes of him crying, I feel like most people could take an acting class, watch Forrest Gump a few times and then be able to do the Gump voice, mannerisms etc, it wouldn’t be the easiest but putting on that voice and having the same facial expression that Hanks had for 90% of the movie wouldn’t be that hard

What a sweet little film.

Gets you thinking a lot about grief, our chosen family, broken homes, childhood. Made me miss being a kid in a lot of ways, but happy to be an adult in others.

The little girl actress is fantastic, but so is everyone. I want the old couple to be my parents, really. It seemed like such a warm place to be, and watching this was like thinking about a good memory you have from your childhood. Most of the movie is in the Irish language and that was a trip. A RARE language, sounds very nordic. Or how I imagine english sounds like to people who can't understand it.

The movie looks gorgeous too, love how it's framed and everything looks silky smooth. It feels like they shot on film, even if they didn't.

It's pretty predictable, I don't know if there's anything new necessarily here. It's well made, but you knew where it was going early on. Nothing groundbreaking or anything, but still a very sweet movie that hits everything it needs to well. My mom would love this.

Not gonna lie and say it didn't break my heart. I cried. And it felt good.

I'm not offended, either. You seem to be very sure that criticism = offense, but I'm not sure why.

And comedy can be outdated and cringeworthy just as much as drama, if not even moreso. Look at Mickey Rooney in Breakfast at Tiffany's. Or, as someone else pointed out, the rape scene in 16 Candles (and the other rape scene in Revenge of the Nerds, come to think of it). You think that shit flies now?

Inherent Vice - A maritime insurance policy that says some objects have risk in virtue of themselves, a china plate is brittle and can break, chocolate can melt.

Its about a person trying to understand how the world has changed through his ex-old lady (Shasta Fey)

The conspiracy is real and happening, but is it a hidden?

‘Hey man thats the golden fang youre rippin off man, the spooky outfit that kills people!?!’

‘Thats according to your own delusional system.’

The whole film is about a hippy detective during the 70s. All the information he gets he has to filter out the information through his interlocutors worldview.
