Correction:
From: ‘My onion has a second layer of skin inside it’
To: ‘My onion had a second layer of skin inside it’
The second layer of skin is no longer inside the onion, therefore the sentence should include ‘had’ and not ‘has’.

I was there as a tourist and mostly visited the touristy places but yes almost every place had English translations or a separate English menu!
