This isn’t a trackball. It’s a regular non optical mouse with scroll wheel. Trackballs have an exposed ball on top that you move with your thumb.
EDIT: I should have been more specific. Mouses were just referred to as a mouse back when they were mechanical and used a rubber coated steel ball.

Obviously not. I remember when optical mouses came out. It was so new and unexpected. Of course a mouse was just a mouse back in the day.

Agreed, that's what trackball means to me too. Had one for years. But I wasn't going to argue semantics and I knew what 66smeg meant.
tbf, it wasn't called 'non optical mouse' back then either. It was just a mouse. 🐁

The answer is right in your image. I agree with it. Pre-optical mouses were mechanical. If you want to see a trackball mouse, it’s in the top of your pic.

No those were just called 'mice'. Trackballs weren't mice. They didn't move on the desk. You're hand rolled a ball that was exposed on the top. You can still get trackballs today.
When optical mice came out, the old ones were called 'ball mice' or 'rolerball mice'. But that's still not trackball mice.

If you would have taken a look at the results for trackball mouse you probably wouldn’t have responded to me

I’m very familiar with old mice. That’s just the way it was back then. Google ‘trackball mouse’. Maybe this is like me calling the original Xbox the 180.

Trackball mice had a ball underneath that rolled when you move the mouse with rollers on the inside tracking its movement. It's what they used before optical mice. RSI mice are completely different.

If only I could find one to stop her from chewing on any piece of plastic she finds. No spell is that powerful tho.

Ouch. Never stepped on one but have definitely been stabbed by them. Putting on a pair of joggers I left on the floor and one was hiding in there. Thought somethin but me. And sorry for your loss.

Battery would last forever in these. Months.
EDIT: I actually used these back in the day.

Yes I wish I would have held on to my 90s creative labs ISA sound cards. Worth a couple hundred or more per card now. Keep the 90s stuff.

All good. And Yup. They shed them naturally as new ones grow in. Very small but easily found when they’re on your pillow. Or stickin directly up in a piece of furniture. Or when you sweep anywhere. The middle one was found last night in a fresh pile of her puke.

Well my roommate has one, I honestly never noticed any of her whiskers falling out. That’s new to me! By the way, I was just joking around. I still can’t believe they just fall out though.

Be honest, you plucked them. They never fall out on their own and even if they somehow did, how would you find it?

Maybe you can convince someone that these are tiger whiskers and sell them for big money.
