Yeah they are about the same but the ranges are different. Rfid can be scanned further away. I think you’re right, hotel usually uses prox card.

I stayed at this same hotel about a month ago and they had normal Best Western keys. So them running out is probably what is going on.

This is almost certainly it. I've worked in quite a few hotels and thankfully only once had to break out the emergency box.

That's a blank rfid card. We usually use them to print employees ID.

That sounds about right. During Covid we got all kinds of weird stuff from donations. We got a lot of those snack boxes from airlines and other stuff.
