Anyone else see that Parking at commuter rail stations is another gap in this plan?

It would be one thing if the law forced towns to build within a 10 minute walk from the MBTA station. But the fact they are pushing this to neighboring towns means folks are going to need to drive to the T station and park. And at least near me there is no parking. Nor any plan or space for a nearby garage.

So…we will have these huge new housing developments in rural areas. And then folks will drive to the T station and park where, exactly?

Every town is different. Some towns have capacity available in their schools or infrastructure to absorb this with little incremental investment needed.

My town does not. Schools already at max capacity. There is no ability to absorb a couple hundred more kids without building a new school for $100+ million. In a town of <5000.

Fire department already too small and need a new one. This will mean we now need a bigger one. More teachers. More police. More DPW.

Yeah that was an interesting one. I saw some comments calling that "terrifying," and I generally agree. One counterpoint is that I read it as a factual statement ("This website gives me these permissions/privileges"), and it was one more statement among many stream-of-consciousness statements.

It's left to the reader to interpret to what degree that power was abused / could be abused, so I'm left wondering if people actually have different images in their minds. Even though they all call it "worrisome," or "terrifying." No one elaborates so we all feel in agreement. IDK if it helps at all to get into specifics, but if we did I wonder if we'd all have different interpretations of that thread.

I searched in google maps for playgrounds, and this one came up - first picture looked underwhelming, but if you look at the other photos, they have some cool climbing stuff!

The Alden Play Area in Cambridge looks little, but fun:

This one is very different:

Alexander W. Kemp Playground (617) 349-4800 https://maps.app.goo.gl/UGjs4t5yFAjQdjTC7?g_st=ic

Nearest and dearest to my heart and ancestral homeland (and recently redone):

Damn you, OP! I have fallen down a playground rabbit hole!

If you make your way into the Springfield area, stop by and we'll hook you up with a board game, game book, CCG packs, or something. Just DM me before coming to make sure I've got a name to give to staff in case I'm not there that day.

Thanks for sticking by MA, we appreciate you.

Robbins Farm Park in Arlington is pretty cool, and great for sledding, too. They have a massive slide and great views of the city.

The old wooden ones were great, especially the one by Winchester Center @ Ginn Field, but they changed it. Alas, I am old now and no longer know an awesome playground when I see one. The new one looks decent, but not as exciting.
