How does snow ruin ice? I’m fascinated by ice fishing. Sometimes I see people and vehicles on that reservoir in Cheshire on days it barely seems cold enough to wear a coat and I go home and look up “ice fishing pickup falling into ice” and, boy oh boy, there are a lot of results

Whoops. Haverhill Public Schools apologized to families for holding school on Tuesday after the city got nine inches of snow, according to a Facebook post from the district.

The school said it was following weather forecasts, which predicted snow wouldn’t start until 1 p.m. It started mid-morning instead.“We called this one wrong, and we are so sorry!” their post reads.

I don't want to be insensitive but this is dumb,hiking Mt Washington state forest in a bad bad snow storm (not to be confused with the mountain in New Hampshire)

Mt Washington is a town of 150 odd people on the Connecticut and New York borders in southwest MA.It is very mountainous and remote and is known for Bash Bish falls the states largest waterfall and Mt Everett and large Mt of about 24,25 hundred feet.It is also known for a decent rattlesnake population.

Every year someone gets lost in the White Mountains or on Mt Greylock in a storm and occassionally someone dies or goes missing or a body pops up years later in the Maine wilderness or something.

If these people were not able to find a cell signal they would have surely died and I am surprised they found a cell signal in Mt Washington in a blizzard.What possessed them to hike to a remote cabin on a MT in a blizzard.And the State Troopers they put at risk too ,what about them.

Lanesboro is coming in at 3 feet. My final foray into cleaning the snow yesterday was around 7 last night. I thought I would see 1-2 inches to clear this morning, boy was I wrong. I could hardy open the door. I haven't seen piles like this for years. The roads at least are pretty well cleared.

I heard the power lines caught fire on Main Road. Hope you all at least have electricity now.
