I looked into Eastview last year and they said they were full, I’m not even sure if the prices on their website are updated. Most of the new places being built are out of reach if you make much less than 6 figures. Under 1k for anything is rare, unless you know someone there’s probably going to be 20 people showing up just for the open house.

Honestly between equipment costs and labor (shortage of skilled tradesmen) both going up, 2x is pretty close to what I've seen in other areas of the building/construction industry.

In my view Mass Save is only contributing indirectly by increasing demand. I doubt installers are just adding the rebate since competition should keep that in check. Otherwise you're talking systemic market failure or a cartel among installers. The latter seems extremely unlikely, though the former may be possible. I honestly don't know if there are barriers to competition preventing new firms from starting/moving into state, or existing firms expanding.

OK that is why then. Your registration never changes which month it renews. That is why the month is stamped right on the plate. Also did you know the last number on your license plate corresponds to the month your registration expires? Example "XYZ 123" and "0123 XY" both indicate expiring in March.

So when you transfer plates, it doesn't reset from March to November. It stays March as is literally stamped in metal on your plate. The renewal will be for anywhere from 1 to 2 years later depending on your month of your registration and where you are in the year. Your plates expire in March. Since you transferred them in November the year would move up but you still were stuck on March, so in November your new expiration for the transferred plates would be about 16 month later rather than a full 24 months.

Under $1000 in Worcester will get you a 100-300sqft studio with no washer/dryer hookups. I see a couple in the $800-$900/mo range. Basically a small hotel room looking place.

If bedrooms are a must, then it simply doesn't exist without applying to section 8 or other welfare program. Craigslist/facebook marketplace might have some people that are willing to negotiate rent prices down to what you need.

Alternatively, you could consider renting just a bedroom. it's basically a "roommate" situation but may satisfy your needs.

EDIT: Did some more digging. Eastview apartments have 1b1b 500sqft units for right at $1000/mo

It is a state program that one of the sources for funding for it is utility companies, it was overhauled last year by the state:

>This week, Massachusetts approved a major overhaul of the Mass Save program, the state’s leading energy efficiency program and best tool to help residents kick fossil fuels and lower their utility bills. The dense, 343-page order lays out a three-year plan for 2022 through the end of 2024, and it is full of rebates, interest-free loans, free efficiency upgrades, and other incentives aimed at making homes across the state more efficient and resilient.

Define "Affordable".

Without knowing what state you're in it's impossible to say. Affordable in south-west GA is $550/mo for a 2b1b, affordable for the same in MA could be three times that.

Do you have to move to MA in general, or a specific location?
