That's a little higher than our income but we bought in Attleboro in 2021. Couldn't afford the house today because of inflation and interest rates. Also we're older millenials- rapidly approaching forty. Commuting to Boston is a nightmare, but we both wfh as much as possible, and we have more space for what we were paying for rent in Quincy. Pretty sure the rent will hve increased in the interim too.

Pretty sure that's illegal. Employers pay money into that state fund every time they do payroll. They've already "paid" the unemployment. The state disburses it to a person when they make a claim.

Im not in HR so don't quote me. You could also try the attorney generals office or contacting your state representatives for clarification.

I'd guess about 4x increase on insurance. ~$300 for my contribution to an employer plan, vs. about $1200 now, plus whatever dental costs. Also on a mid-tier plan, vs the premium one offered by the employer. That's for two people.

But again, insurance is 100% deductible, and so are most of your out-of-pocket medical/dental expenses, so ends up being not so bad. Still sucks to write the check.

Fitchburg/Leominster ended up the most attractive option for me. I also like things a little more rural and I don’t mind the “old mill town” vibe that people love to bitch about. Still paid 300k for a house that is…. probably not worth 300k

It’s complex, the key phrase is “about to inflict great bodily injury…”. Also, castle doctrine is not one specific law it is several laws that states use. In a castle doctrine state, you can shoot someone in your house regardless of whether you believe you’re in immediate danger. What you stated may be considered a piece of castle doctrine, but compared to other states it’s much more restrictive here. If you shoot a burglar on sight in Massachusetts, or beat him, and he was unarmed you are in potentially serious trouble if he is injured enough that he can’t walk away. It would be different in a state with true castle doctrine laws.

Have you spoken with Northamton MA police because that is where he would likely be.

There are several logan reece's on IG I checked a few and didn't see a post on anyone missing. Is there a reason why he may have left the camp, did he express unhappyness there. And does he know anyone in the Hampshire county area where he could be or may have reached out.

He must have shelter somewhere because it's winter in Massachusetts, there is a lot of off campus college housing in Northamton where vagrants or homeless come and go(sorry to use such blunt language but lacking a better term)

Not sure why you’re getting downvoted, this is correct. Section 8A says:

Section 8A. In the prosecution of a person who is an occupant of a dwelling charged with killing or injuring one who was unlawfully in said dwelling, it shall be a defense that the occupant was in his dwelling at the time of the offense and that he acted in the reasonable belief that the person unlawfully in said dwelling was about to inflict great bodily injury or death upon said occupant or upon another person lawfully in said dwelling, and that said occupant used reasonable means to defend himself or such other person lawfully in said dwelling. There shall be no duty on said occupant to retreat from such person unlawfully in said dwelling.

My wife and I are slightly above that median number. We are in Western MA, had our "starter" home in Chicopee for five years and sold that last summer for our "forever" home in Belchertown. Inventory options are certainly better for median household families in this part of the state.

This is exactly the type of insight I was looking for, thank you so much! My tax person is currently a family friend, I’ve been working with him since I graduated college so I feel like I’m a good spot there already. If you don’t mind me asking, how much did your health insurance cost increase by percentage wise?
