I was the Foreman on a murder trial here in the Commonwealth back in ‘08. One of the contentious points was that a fight was initiated, and the person who started it swung but missed. According to Massachusetts law, that means that you are actually allowed to defend yourself, even though the person didn’t make contact. In other words, if a person in Massachusetts takes a swing at you, that alone is enough to rightfully, defend yourself. I don’t know if that’s what you’re looking for, but there it is.

Wow. Looks like I’m out of luck then. I wish I could raise the rate, but I’m not in that position. I know the pay kind of sucks, but it’s easy work with no nights or weekends and no experience required. Maybe it’ll catch someone’s attention.

Are you sure about that? I thought your statement only applies in a Stand Your Ground state? Pretty sure I recall incidents where home invaders in MA have sued the home owners successfully for injuries they incurred when the homeowner beat them out of the house. FWIW, I'm no lawyer so I'm not challenging you. Just questioning.

Shit, I went to a Vocational High School with an electrical background, after graduating I ended up working office jobs for half that wage, wanting to go back cause I know trades are eager to find people and I’m just here procrastinating

According to the source below, Mississippi - but Mississippi ranks lowest on most things like education, healthcare, recycling, etc.

If you can get a no downpayment financing through HUD or FHA that will protect you from rent increases but unfortunately home repairs can be expensive and real estate taxes go up.

I can do even better. $575/week to work Friday-Sunday. It’s salary too. You get paid even if we don’t work. Also there is health and dental to be had 80/20. A few weeks out of the year we have to work more days, but we also basically have two months off in the winter (still paid). Have to lift 35 pounds repeatedly. We set up crowd control fence for special events. Travel around the region. We buy dinner while in the road. Always decent hotels. Good crew. No yelling. Everyone is an adult.

Edit: We're based in Plymouth. DM for more info,

Schools must step up and run a parallel supervised track.

The statute was created, because more than a few districts abandoned the young people to semi-permanent suspension, and there was no learning progress for these I individuals over the course of years.

Basically the population requires a variety of a special needs program.

I understand YOUR motivation. And I do find it interesting. But, unfortunately, your innocent etymological exercise has been latched onto by groups like storm front. It’s a shame. But it’s predictable. Anything that celebrates Anglo Saxon/Nordic/Celtic culture is their nectar.

Yes we are looking. Sad we are even looking to move to a state with lower cost of living just so we can live a little more comfortably. Ma is becoming a state that you just can’t make it anymore. We make usually $80000 a year and live pay check to pay check. We rent hoping and praying it doesn’t go up and we are on the street. There is no middle class anymore and you can’t survive in Ma anymore. Anyone know a good state for truckers with low cost of living but good paying transportation jobs?
