They aren't. School buses aren't comfortable in the slightest. All that they end up being is repeated short 5 minute naps interrupted by waking up to try to adjust your body to not have as bad of a neck cramp.

I've never been to Toronto but I like having sports teams that win sometimes and I hear it's kinda pricey. I'd definitely go for a visit sometime at the very least

I can confirm that, as of June 2022, the casino plan is still on. I was briefly involved with the project at that time. The plan has changed from the original idea though - now it’s a one-story building instead of a huge hotel tower.

I mean no doubt I'm a cry baby about it. I walk my dog ~2 miles every morning barring really bad wind or rain, it's just not my cup of tea. I'll take 90 and humid every day of the week over the frigid days.

Come out to the Merrimack valley and commute. You can get a three bedroom in Tewksbury for that price. Safe town. Good schools. (I’m a teacher)

I don't think high schoolers should have after school jobs. Summer internships are good, but no minor should have to work during the school year.
It's not a coincidence that the demographic of kids in America who do the least house chores and have the lowest rate of working a paid part time job also have the highest graduation rate and highest rate of eventual university completion.

If MA pushes high school start times back to 9am, the kids would get so much smarter that they would make Finnish and Singaporean teens look dumb in comparison. Which would only fuel the egoism of MA. The state's collective ego would balloon to an unstable size, upon which it would collapse under its own weight, thereby creating a massive black hole.

Your budget is unrealistic unless you want a fixer upper. Don't focus on schools. All schools in MA are good. You need a $800-1.5 million budget.

I'm in Burlington. For a decent house her budget needs to be $700-800k. That price is a bit of a fixer upper. Even then could be tough.new construction is at $1.5-2 million. We also have major water problems. Something to consider. I am very happy with the schools though.

The question is whether you itemized last year (2021 tax year). If you didn’t, then you don’t have to include the refund on your 2022 taxes.

Good luck.

Usually they don’t give a crap if it gets built, and if they say they do it’s just for appearances and to distract you from their NIMBYism.

There was a Reddit thread a little while back about how cold you feel outside is largely a matter of mindset, and there were people that live in Siberian-type climates saying how funny they think it is to come and see people dressing in so many layers when it’s “only” in the single digits, not even in the negatives. And then I read that being outside in the cold briefly without a heavy jacket does not make you sick, unless you are under-dressed for a truly prolonged period of time or wet in the freezing cold. So I decided to toughen up, started taking walks in 30° weather, and now I enjoy it.
