I've read about people intentionally swap EZ pass in rental cars so someone else will get the toll charge... I now suspect that happens here, and my EZ pass wasn't even associated with my own rental so my plate got charged...

I actually did, AMEX withheld it once after I disputed, but rebilled me today. They even sent me a document reiterating the reasons PlatePass gave. I called the AMEX customer service and they told me there's nothing they can do unless the merchants agree to pay me back.

To clarify, I did not elect anything upon picking up the car. The guy at Hertz didn't mention anything about Toll at all. I was charged the all-inclusive fees which was substantially more expensive than the actual toll amount.

In the past, I have rented Hertz cars in many other locations. One time, I was told by a Hertz person, as long as I take out the EZ pass in the PlatePass box attached to the windshield, I would be charged per-usage fees. If I don't take it out, they will charge by plate (which was the same as all-inclusive, because I actually forgot one time before).

Today I called Hertz and was told I need to opt-out of all-inclusive explicitly.

Used to live at 30 Regent for 5 years. Had a pretty good experience. Staff is really nice. Wonderful location. And got 100% of my security deposit back with no issues. Building is not as “luxury” as some newly constructed ones in JCDT, but still has gym, pool, grills and garage

MTA at least has a much broader range of service and people who use it so I expect more issues even though it still sucks. No reason PATH should be as useless as it is

PATH service has fallen off a cliff after most people went back to their offices. During the pandemic it was an easy 22 minutes tops on NWK-WTC. Now it’s regularly 26-27 minutes without any issues. As soon as there’s an issue god only knows.

Deadass the benefits would be multiplied across JC communities if we had a decent train system that ran almost 24/7 every 10 min. Or a ferry same price as path that ran 10 mins. It would bring so much fucking money, w tourists, reputation, ppl moving in. Govt should have a simple job, “what can I easily identify that would fix a lot of fucking problems and enable a better community?”
