You were probably in a two hour non-resident zone, they'll have proof that you were there two hours prior to the first ticket and the next ticket was because you didn't move for at least another two hours.

You might be able to plead it down to one ticket with the prosecutor, but that doesn't seem worth the hassle to me, even if it is a zoom call.

It sucks, it was probably an easy second ticket to issue, but if this wasn't enforced the whole city would become a park and ride for Manhattan.

This is theft & morally unethical.

This part of our transit network relies on the HONOR SYSTEM. This is YOUR transportation network and your neighbor’s transportation network. Over time, cheating the honor system pushes up fares or forces schedule cuts, which ultimately decreases mobility & quality of life and increases community fractures & isolation.

Think about the role you play in your community. We all have a part to play to increase economic opportunity, keep our neighborhoods running smoothly & improve our quality of life. Be honorable & civil & just pay the fare. gif

Also, imagine if nearly 100% riders paid the fare?! If this was the case, there’s a much better case for investment in expanding light rail lines & increasing capacity.

We did similarly… moved from the ArtHouse to 65 Bay and really loving it. But, my take on the gym is quite different: I’m there every day and really enjoy it. It’s mostly empty (mid day or late afternoon) and its size is quite good compared to most building gyms. But yeah, compared to Base, it is tiny.

I’m actually only using plastic metrocard for Path. I can tap on every MTA station (that I’ve been to) but Hoboken Path station doesn’t have the tappy thingie, which is incredibly frustrating because it occasionally eats fares off my card
