love menya sandaime. i think it gets overlooked because it's not on or near the newark ave restaurant strip and people just don't know about it. highly recommend them for delivery (i've never actually been to the restaurant).

Welcome to the neighborhood!

We run softball, kickball and volleyball leagues in town (and Hoboken). Would love to have you join us. Great way to meet people when you’re new to town or just want to be more social. Spring Registration is going on now with league’s starting in a couple of weeks.

With all of our leagues you can sign up as an individual, with a group of friends or with a full team.

Let me know if you have any questions

There is a Discord server that has neighborhood 'channels', the Heights channel is pretty active. People coordinate planned meetups and also 'short notice' walks, activities, lunches, etc. The larger server also has a book club, a brewing club, a walking/hiking and climbing group, etc etc. Sports are less active but I've seen general interest in pickup basketball, tennis, etc. so someone just has to make it happen.

I guess it's kind of annoying to have to join yet another social platform but once you accept the basic rules and understand how to navigate the platform, it becomes fairly easy to coordinate and join activities.

I moved to NJ from Ontario 1.5 years ago and transferred my license. I booked an "out of state transfer" appointment originally and they gave me a permit to come back and write the written test. After I wrote the written test, they waived the road test and gave me the full license.

I don't know if "out of state" was the correct type of appointment to book originally (they mentioned it means from a different state, not from Canada), so you might just have to book a permit appointment and show them your Canadian DL. Wasn't too bad of a process though.
